So sell it all off and quit whining. I am keeping my PS3 and all the software. I have had no problems since going Blu.

My PS3 is the best piece of electronic equipment I have ever purchased (and I have spent alot in the past) and movies that look and sound so awesome that I doubt I will ever have to repurchase them again. Well, never say never.

I love Blu-ray disc.

I guess it's the frustrations of the format war. I bought the PS3 mainly for the ease of firmware upgrades. I'm not a gamer at all.

I remember my first DVD player wouldn't play any movies that had more than 24 chapters on the disc. It didn't takelong before I couldn't watch the newer releases. I was a little upset at the time having paid more than $600 for it, but now I have a better understanding of what it means to be an early adopter. You need to really research what you are getting before you buy. I would tell you to hang in there, I don't think it will be much longer, and 2 or 3 years from now the war will be a distant memory.

So you're going to sell all your stuff that you like on Blu-Ray because... wait, I'm really confused here. Even if Blu-Ray goes under, you still have those extremely high quality versions of those movies. So why would you sell all of it? Especially when you have a total of 3 players (1 of them is pretty much future proof if/when Blu-Ray succeeds). And then if/when they do succeed, you'll have to repurchase everything. So I say go for it, sell all your stuff, because it makes total sense and there's absolutely no chance of regretting it later on down the road.

I know that I strongly believe BD, I have days where I'm in doubt ever a week or 2 have passed where I am in doubt, but I've always felt safe to post about my doubts this is a support forum for BD, and tearing down some one for having doubts is hardly supporting the format.

the question I pose to those attack the OP is how would you like it if you were having doubts and all you got were messages saying "fine switch." or "go neutral see if we care." let's start giving the benefit of the doubt here.

Well, I think that you need to step away from the forums for a while and have some close personal one-on-one time with both formats. Let YOUR relationship with HDM decide what course of action to take. You shouldn't get frustrated with the plentiful nature of your Hi-Def experience because of others flexing their muscles and trying to break 2x4s over their own heads to show a machismo that has nothing to do with you as an individual consumer.

Somehow I doubt Samsung has just dropped any support for the 1000. "That thing? You'll have to buy a new player to play movies, you silly little man!" Have you done ANY firmware updates, if your player won't play movies? Like did you download this?

Or is it physically incapable of reading discs?

Default no war

I asked few questions in regard to Blu-ray verses HD DVD. Basically, I went to the oppsite camp and ask if anyone used to own the other format and what it would take for them to switch back.

It seems the BD side like their format because of the quality of video and audio (most likely not noticeable). I do have to give the capacity to the BD format. Oh yea, and the choices of the movies.

As for the HD size, they like their format because of they are happy with thier selection. Oh yea, and the choices of the movies.

The 3rd groups is folks that have both formats. There aren't any war???? if you can afford $2K-4K in buying your plasma/LCD, I am sure you can save $400-$600 in buying the other format if you really want to. (no one is going to make you do things that you don't want to).

Final analysis, do not let the technology and entertainment industry get you all upset with Blu-ray or HD DVD thing ..... enjoy the options .... hahahahahaha

what does "done" mean?...

is he trolling or something?

I want to give him the benefit of the doubt....but the way he shut down after apparently owning 3 BD players as someone said?

I am confused as to what he is upset about....

is he dropping his BD player because he's upset over the internet bickering?...

I am lost...

The only thing I'm tired of this Format war are the HD-DVD a-holes who mislead the public with all their bullsh*t and dirty tactics to win the war.
