Need help

Im in england and i have a pioneer blu ray player thats region free. Or supposed to be. Never had a problem with american dvds before. But i received the american walking dead season 4 set. Despite previous american sets of the series, this is saying the region is incompatible with my player even though i play american region dvds , including previous wd series.

Anyone know whats gone wrong?

No Blu-ray player is actually REGION FREE. You need to set the region manually, somehow. The method varies by player model and chip version.

You may also have a player that's only region free for dvd's and not Blu-rays. Kind of hard for us to know about that though.

Hi, but i previously played the american region walking dead blu rays perfectly. They have same region . I dont know whats happened. I brought this blu ray player because it was region free. How can i check settings? Im not really a techy person

What player do you have and where was it purchased from? Region free blu-ray players are region free, or region all, by default for DVDs but for blu-ray's you must set the specific region of the blu-ray disc.

Previous Walking Dead Blu-rays might have been region all/free.

Hi, from amazon. I just know its pioneer, is there a way i can see specifically? Will it say so on the model itself? I brought it on reccomendation of a friend

Then you've managed to change the region without knowing or the mod is broken. How you've then managed to avoid locked region B titles, I have no idea.

How can you change regions? And im not sure if its modded or not, it seemed to work straight out of the box.

Honestly never had any problems with any american blu ray before.

Is there a simple way to set blu ray regions?

It varies from player to player and mod to mod. I have no idea what to suggest, other than trying to push 1, 2 or 3 on the remote when the player is turned off, to select region A, B or C. You may have to remove the disc from the player.

I think (not sure) that region free players are modded. Its possible the studios have changed their coding to prevent this. You may want to check with the place that modded it and see if they have some type of firmware patch or something to update it if thats the case.

I have the player. It is not region free. No Blu-ray player is. It is region changeable. I did it to mine once to test and it worked fine. However I didn't need to use that feature so I really can't remember how to do it. Something in the service menu. Anyway check out the thread.
