Problem With PS3 Game?

Well I got my PS3 today, Assassins Creed played fine, no issues. Popped in Ratchet and Clank and the game would freeze at the Insomniac logo and would freeze when configuring HDD drive. So I restart PS3, clean the disc just by breathing on it and using cotton shirt, pop it back in and the game begins to work. I have 4 days left to exchange the game, so I was wondering if you guys think the problem was the smudges on the game disc or something else?

probably just a glitch, when i first put in lego star wars the characters were all glitchy and freaky looking, all i did was reboot my ps3 and everything has been fine since.

Dont know, I just finished Uncharted so I poped in Ratchet, and after the inital set-up wait, It plays great.

Yea it plays now but I was just worried it was frozen earlier. I think the reset probably fixed it, I doubt smudges would really matter?

Anywyas my main question is, do you guys think I should be worried about it?

maybe it was just from firing up the new system. It happens

I woulnt stress, its probably a freak glitch, Resistance froze up on me once, I rebooted, And have had no other problems, & I have had my PS3 scince last nov.

Yea but it froze like 3 times till I retsrated and removed the smudges...

Sorry if I'm being paranoid, but I can still exchange it to Gamestop.

I got the game used, but I don't think it really matters right? Doesn't gamestop just pull your game from a mix of games used and new?

If its working now the reboot could have fixed it, play it a while and see if it freezes again.

If its still an issue, exchange it. But its a rather new release, so used copies might be scarce. They might offer a store credit or refund if no other used copies are avalable.
