Wait. This was just the first season? As in, there will be more seasons? I thought it was a one off history channel mini series. What's the future of Vikings?
If it is going into a season two, won't they have to go less and less faithful to history? After all, there is only so many things to write about with these historical figures.

It has been renewed for season two.

I watched the first four episodes of this and wasn't a real fan of it, not that it was bad or anything it was just that I got a Game of Thrones vibe from it.

Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios and Fox Home Entertainment have officially announced and detailed their upcoming Blu-ray release of Vikings: Season One. The release will be available for purchase online and in stores across the nation on October 15th.

Vikings follows the adventures of the great hero Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel), a Viking chieftain seeking to fulfill his destiny as a conqueror, alongside his ambitious brother Rollo (Clive Standen) and loyal wife Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick). Throughout his quest, Ragnar faces a path of betrayals and temptations to protect his freedom, family, and life. When Ragnar teams up with his boat builder friend Floki (Gustaf Skarsgard) to craft a new generation of intrepid ships capable of conquering the rough northern seas, the stage is set for conflict.

I won't buy a 2 disc set with 5 episodes squeezed onto one disc. It's not what blu-ray was meant to look like.

Yeah but what's the difference? There are two different studios:
MGM 3-disc $41.99
Fox 2-disc $53.99

How is that possible, for the same TV show, as a preorder?

It's an MGM title so it'll be MGM, even if its distributed by fox.
