Step up to the plate for Damn Yankees, the rousing movie of the 1,019-performance Broadway grand slam that imports nearly all the original New York lineup, including Tony® Award-winning stars Gwen Verdon as luscious vamp Lola and Ray Walston as her slyly Satanic boss Applegate. Excellent!!! I was hoping that the BD of The Pajama Game meant this was next!

More Stanley Donen on BD is always a good thing!

Isn't it sad, though, that this movie, being a film from 1958, was mono? There were stereo films for 5 years prior to this release (same with Pajama Game). Or were these 2 movies the victim of Jack Warner's throwing out all of the stereo tracks for the Warner movies. I have a hard time believing these 2 films were never released in stereo. Such great scores, what a shame!

When I saw this as a kid it was kind of scary to me.

When Tab Hunter turns back from young to old. Ray Walston made me uneasy as the devil too.

It was more of a horror movie than musical to me but the movie always stuck with me.

I saw it later as an adult and saw the movie more for what it was.

Looking forward to getting this but I'll wait until the Warner 4 for 44 sale and I don't think Damn Yankees will be included until next year.

The Warner Shop has stated the next 4for44 sale will be the final sale of this kind and changes will come to the shop afterwards.

It's bizarre.

Amazon lists this in stock, with next day delivery.

However, if you preordered, like me, you got a lower price by $4 when it went down for a while last week, but if you preordered you also have an expected delivery date of:

Arriving Mar 24 - Apr 21

You pre-ordered it and that's the date it's giving? it will probably ship soon and change. after i pre-ordered mine it was saying it would be delivered the 19th but it shipped yesterday and the date changed to arriving the 18th.

Yep, I preordered the moment it went live for order on Amazon, on Feb 9. Aargh.

Oh wow, their systems for shipping pre-orders out make no sense. someone on another forum said he ordered his March 13th and it came 3 days later but yet other people ordered theirs a month ahead of time and they still have not shipped them out

Yep, they very clearly do not give priority to those who ordered them earliest. If anything, they seem to ship the preorders out in reverse chronological order. Aargh.

Amazon's preorder system is totally messed up. I preordered the moment it went live, on Feb 9. However, all week this item has showed in stock and available for next-day delivery, yet my estimated delivery date has remained unchanged: Mar 24-Apr 21.

I finally called Amazon today, and the very sweet but poorly informed rep tried to explain the delay with a bunch of gibberish she had clearly been told to repeat by a supervisor.

I finally just asked if she would give me a $4 credit to cover the increased current price, cancel the preorder, and let me place a new order, at the same price I had it preordered for. She agreed, and I now have a new order, set to arrive Sunday.

I hope this doesn't become a regular thing with preorders.

My preorder of News of the World UHD/BD combo has a similarly absurd estimated delivery date: April 2 - May 5, even though it comes out on Tuesday.

Preordering used to mean you were first in the queue to receive an item, I hope Amazon is not redesigning their system to make preorders ship last. The Amazon rep seemed to be suggesting that was the case, though her explanation really didn't make much sense.

That's makes no sense, I hate talking to their agents, it usually gets you know where. They just talk in circles and rarely can do anything to fix a situation besides give a 5 dollar credit, if they are even willing to do that. Do you have prime? that a lone should guarantee you have at least 2 day shipping after it's arrived in stock. I got so fed up with pre-ordering at amazon last year, i stopped using them till these last few months it seemed like they were getting better with pre-orders. I got the last several titles on the day they were released but not this one, I should of known it was to good to be true.

I have Prime, I still had these absurdly lengthy delivery windows.

I've usually found the clerks super helpful, in the past, but this was a confusing situation.

At least now my package already shipped, only hours after placing my new order, and I'll get it on Sunday.
