Gears of War? - Blu-ray Forum

I was watching the intro that the playstation 3 now has on their web site, http://www.us.playstation.com/PS3/landing.aspx and it looks like there is a gears of war clip on there. Is there going to be a version of Gears of War coming to the PS3? Or was this just something that I mistook as that game?

didn't see a clip but its probably killzone 2 if it looks like gears

What video do you speak of? The clips playing behind the rotating PS3 on the page you linked? Or is there another page within the site?

EDIT: After clicking on 'Start' on the page you linked it played a "what's under the hood of the PS3" video. If that's what you are referencing, the only FPS games I saw clips for were Killzone & Resistance. There was also clips from Little Big Planet, Ratchet & Clank, Heavenly Sword, and what I believe to be Blazing Angels.

thats funny, if you look at the hardware area it lists the 40 gig as including a copy of Spiderman 3 on "blue-ray" not Blu-ray.

If it looks like Gears, it is probably Unreal Tournament 3 which is by Epic, the same team that made Gears.

The three games in the intro are Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted, and some plane game (assuming Blazing Angels).

Not sure which one you think looks like Gears of War.

man....I would straight bust a nut if Gears came to PS3. It's the only reason I HAD a 360, but then it broke and I just said screw it since the ps3 is better in terms of everything else.

I must have seen Killzone then. I could have sworn it looked like Gears of War. Maybe its just my eyes playing tricks on me. I saw it under the clip for "The Guts". I could have sworn it though because I saw the opening for Gears of War on my buddies X-box 360 when he first got it and it looked exactly like that. But maybe it is Killzone. If it is then damn it looks like G.O.W. Thanks for the info Petra_Kalbrain.

Bingo, although Killzone is second bet, not quite the same though lighting is drastically different that gears.

To everyone guessing at what movies are playing behind the roating PS3 - If you look towards the right side of the screen, it actually says the name of the game while the movie is playing (and gives you a link)

The flying game is Warhawk

Not sure what looked like gears though, most likely one of the games mentioned already - Killzone 2, Unreal Tournament, etc.

Gears is published by Microsoft if I'm not mistaken so I highly doubt we'll ever be seeing it on PS3

That sucks gears of war was one fun game to play and beat. Its the only game I miss from the 360.

Killzone 2 is going to own gears and I think you saw UT3 as well as the lighting and textures look quite close to Gears

All I can say is they better be two good games because gears is hard to beat.

personally I don't think so, Gears was terrible in my opinion, it just didn't impress me at all, it bored me actually.
