Gears of War 2

Anyone play it yet? It sold 2mil already.

My friend brought it over and we beat campaign. The campaign is more varied and fast paced but felt less challenging/fulfilling.

The multiplayer is 20x better. Horde is extremely fun =].

Tried to play a game yesterday on Live but it was lagging because of host. Plus I'm trying to level more in WaW.

I liked that part. What didn't impress me was the "emotional aspect".

Ya we had that as well. We invited two of our live friends and played with bots.

I'm playing it now. Somewhere in the middle. I like it just as the first game. Plus this one seems to have some plot too

Awesome game! I beat campaign on normal over the weekend and am now playing through on hardened. I don't play online MP, but my son does. I watched him play level 50 Swarm on insane with 4 others. OMG was that crazy! They didn't make it past 5 minutes before they were all killed. Insane doesn't begin to describe it....

To be fair I'm always critical of FPS campaigns.

I can't even imagine reaching level 50 o.o. You die once on live and it restarts you

Playing it now. Better than any Halo or Resistance IMO.

I don't have a 360 any more but curious if the campaign is longer than the first one which was very short. I plan on playing it at a friends house eventually.

Did they refine the cover system quite a bit? The first one feels rather clunky after having played Uncharted.


Oh yeah, can you duck out in the open? That is one gripe I have with both the first Gears and Uncharted.

Having not played swarm yet, I really don't know how it works, but I saw first-hand they were on level 50 (must have played for hours). I think he said they got up to 50 on normal mode, and then switched to insane to see just how hard it would be. They all kept dying, but it would let you start level 50 over, every time.

This game is simply amazing , I'm having so much fun with it right now and I have'nt even tried horde mode yet. Its everything a good sequel should be. Graphics are top notch, great story so far , and the best thing is they did'nt try to reinvent the wheel like those fools at Imsomniac did with R2. Thats all I wanted with R2 , keep basic formula plus add new weapons, enemies ,and longer campaign. Instead they added the new things but changed the basic formula. Gears is definatly the GOTY for me so far.

I beat Gears 2 and it is definitely better than the first. The story was very interesting and with the way it ends, I except that the third installment with be awesome. Plus, Horde mode and the ability to play offline vs. with bots are great.

Just finished story mode on hardcore last night. Time to start playing horde/swarm (whatever the name), and see how good that is. Hopefully this game will keep me occupied until COD5 and Resistance 2 come down in price a bit.

I have it, but mostly because my friends online play it, I like it and all, but CoD is more my thing, both games are fun to play. I love Call of Duty: World at War though, haven't really touched Gears of War 2 as much since, lol.

I have it but haven't played it yet. A friend and I beat the first one on Insane over the course of a few months so we are going to attempt this as well.

horde is pretty cool

Untill cod5 come donw in price? when well that happen


.. but yea i think Zombie mode on Cod5 is alot better than horde

If it wasn't for a friend and me doing it I'd join... I wonder if Insane is harder this time. It took us a while and then after finishing that we started Halo 3 on legendary right off.

I wish COD4 would have been CO-OP able. I might have been able to finish it on the hardest difficulty if it had been.

You cannot play COD4 online coop?

I'll probably get this game around Christmas time, my tag is the same as my username here (if anyone wants to play around that time).
