Default Do you prefer Digibooks or regular blu rays?

I have been enjoying buying digibooks even though my collection of them is small in comparison to regular blu rays. I like the packaging and enjoy the pages with photos and the background of the films. I have gotten some good deals on digibooks, my best deal was getting the digibook of All about Eve for 5 dollars at Big Lots a few years ago. The digibooks I have are: Chariots of Fire, All About Eve, An Affair to Remember, West Side Story, Labrynth, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, the Neal Blaukamp trilogy. If the price is only a few dollars more than the blu ray or the same cost as a blu ray then I will get the digibooks.

Standard cases all the way. I don't trust paper as a long-term storage solution.

I prefer Digitbooks over regular, steelbooks, neo cases, etc etc. Digibooks are by far my favorite but there are becoming less and less of them. I currently have A Clockwork Orange, The Dark Knight Rises, Dr. Strangelove, Full Metal Jacket, THe Hustler, Donnie Darko, Patton, & maybe 1 or 2 more, but thats about it. I would like to pick up unforgiven next.

I prefer digibooks. They feel like special editions worth collecting. So much more than just a movie in a case. They went the extra mile to present the fans with a collectible. Love it.

Digibooks, steelbooks, and all other packaging. In that order.

Regular cases over digibooks, but I don't mind having a few digibooks. That being said, I don't have any of the Fox digibooks where the discs slide into a cardboard slot, I only have ones such as Warner's releases where the discs sit in a plastic tray with a hub.

Which do not scratch the disc.

Where in my post does it say it has anything to do with scratching discs?

I'm just reiterating this because many members seem to think that this packaging scratches up the discs. My Alien, Star Wars, and Indy discs all still look like new and they get played quite a bit.

I will buy whichever packaging the blu-ray is available in, but I strictly do not like steelbooks. The only steel blu-ray packaging that I have is the Friday the 13th: The Complete Collection, and that's because it was the only packaging the set was available in.

I like booklets so I like digibooks just for that. However my absolutely preferred blu-ray packaging is the original movie poster on a thick case with a booklet inside. Arrow Video nails it.

As if there aren't enough threads derailed on this site by people bickering over this issue, you thought you'd get the ball rolling early on this one too?

Are you trying to start an argument? I am not being baited on this one. Besides, it is completely relevant to the thread.

I like the Digibooks better (not digipaks, those I'd rather have the standard case).

They have additional reading material in them, which is a bonus. And, like someone above mentioned, they feel like Special Editions. I don't have a lot of them anymore, but I like them.

I admit that part of the reason why I like digibooks is that there are unique and different from standard packaging, as well as sometimes more collectible. So I generally get them when that option's available, even tho I rarely read what's inside or fully appreciate any photos. Here're the ones I own so far...

Watchmen: The Complete Story
Man of Steel
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
Suicide Squad
Buck Pirates
Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein
The Rocky Horror Picture Show
A Star Is Born
West Side Story
Labryrinth
The Shawshank Redemption
The Green Mile
Clash of the Titans (1981)
King Kong (1933)
Metropolis
Driving Miss Daisy
Bonnie and Clyde
Dirty Harry
Silverado
How the West Was Won
Dr. Strangelove Or: How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love the Bomb
E.T. - The Extra-Terrestrial
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory
The Secret of the Wings
Pinocchio
Cinderella
Peter Pan
Moana
The Little Mermaid
Aladdin
Brave
Elvis on Tour
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

I've never liked digibooks...they stick out like a sore thumb when placed next to regular Blu cases, and since they don't really close, they allow dust to get inside and settle on the discs! I much prefer steelbooks...they look cooler, and have the exact same dimensions as regular Blu cases.

Not for width. They are 14mm wide, which is the same as UK BD cases and DVD cases.

my preference would be non-eco Blu-ray cases every time. I don't like steelbooks or digibooks.
