Default Anyone else waiting for BOGO's to buy new movies?

I've found that all these BOGO's are starting to spoil me. I still havent picked up the Die Hard movies ( I want individual cases) and the Harry Potter movies, because I know at some point they will be part of a BOGO. Makes me not want to pay full price for a movie, then find it on a BOGO less than a month later.

I've participated in so many BOGOs and B2G1s that there are literally no titles left on my Blu Wish List.

A good friend wanted to know what to get me for Christmas, so I told him the THAT'S ENTERTAINMENT box set and VIVA LAS VEGAS, both from Warner. Now, there's nothing left that's come out, or is coming out, this calendar year that I want. It's a good feeling, actually.

I am not sure you will see too many people here waiting for BOGOs to get new releases. There are a lot of people who are the "I want it now" type and will pay more by getting it at Best Buy rather than wait an extra day or two to save $4 to $5. I wouldn't expect many to do that considering it may be a very long time before the day and date with DVD Blu-ray discs are released.

Well I used to be that way, needed to have it NOW. But lately with so many movies coming out, I find that by the time I watch the movie, its already on a BOGO or on some kind of sale. So for now, until I catch up, im waiting for BOGO's or deals.

I really want to have a movie the week it comes out, but rarely, if ever do I watch it within that week or sometimes even that month or.... yeah, I have a couple BDs that I bought right after Christmas last year and I haven't even opened them yet!

BOGOs are for catching up on stuff you didn't rush right out and get. One good thing is that the last Amazon BOGO had Monty Python for pre-order. I'd do a lot more of them if they had more pre-orders on them!

I am now. Wasn't in the past but since they are so frequent I just wait and not very long either. Come sunday, Best Buy's will allow me to get a couple new releases via BOGO that I haven't picked up yet.

If there is a release I want, I'll get it come hell or high water.

BOGOs for me are just to pick up those titles I may not otherwise get, or, considering my previous DVD buying record, to buy "backup" copies of my favorites. Like the copies I put in a little box to travel with, or a copy to loan out, an "extra" copy in case a meteor strikes the first one.

BOGOs help me build my collection of catalog titles and "double dips" that I wouldn't otherwise pay over $22-$25 for. For instance, the last Warner BOGO on Amazon I picked up The Cowboys, Enter the Dragon, Superman Returns, and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang: none of which I would have bought otherwise.

On the other hand, new releases on Blu I badly want, I'll gladly pay MSRP, i.e. Ratatouille, HP series, 28 Weeks Later, etc.

Im waiting until Harry Potter 1-4 go on bogo before I get them since they're technically old movies.

But for big name new releases (HP 5, Simpsons, POTC AWE) I dont mind paying full price.

Catalog titles, yes, I hope for the BOGO, but new releases, I have no problem paying a higher price for them, if I am really interested.

I usually buy BD's that I want...and then I'll make an additional purchase when I see a BOGO...

I don't wait for a BOGO to make a purchase, I make one when I want one...

I haven't tried these BOGO sales but maybe I should. I'd have to choose what I'd like to have taking into account I can only get movies that can play on zone B players (Europe). And I need to badger a friend that has a credit card LOL

As you get older, you will realize that getting the latest game at release or a movie that you may have already seen at the theater is more enjoyable when you pay less for it after its been out for awhile. All the hype goes away and they sell for what they are really worth, half the cost of new release. Like others noted, you don't play all the games all the time or watch all the movies all the time, what's the point of having it new when that's how its going to be in the end anyway?

What does getting older have to do with it you ask? You learn patience is indeed a virtue (and a money maker).
