Default Any one not buy series on DVD, because the were waiting for an HD version?

Band of Brother is one of my favorite TV shows ever, but I resisted temptation till I could get an HD version on disk.

I am also waiting until I can get the 24 seasons on Blu Ray.

It's one thing to spend $25-30 to get a movie on DVD and then upgrade it, but it's another to spend $50-90 for a season/miniseries on DVD and then turn around and spend another $ 50-90 to upgrade the season.

I'm holding out for Bones. I love that show and hope it comes to blu one day. I was so tempted to get seasons 1&2 black friday. They were only 15 bucks each, but I bit back and decided against it.

it really varies show to show....there is honestly no point in waiting on many series.

for example, Bones Seasons 1-3 are, i assure you, not going to be on blu ray for a LOOOOONG time. I kind of doubt whether the next season will even be released on blu. there are often sales on this series, it would not be bad to pick them up

i used to own 24...i rewatched them this past summer/fall, and then sold them. i will buy them again on blu ray, even if it is in 3 years (likely in my opinion).

I'm holding out for Stargate Atlantis. The entire show aired in HD, so it seems only logical to me that a bluray release would come later down the line.

CSI !!!
Battlestar Gallactica

I won't likely be buying any more 24 either (have up to season 6)

There aren't too many new television shows that I really like that aren't being released on Blu. I would have waited for House, but my wife isn't as patient as I am :P

And to (Fe)Man, I'm trying to force my wife to wait on Bones as well. Hopefully it comes it starts to come out soon. Which studio is behind Bones?

I'm with you on that one as well. With the re-release of Ark of Truth, I hope that the powers that be realize that there is a good following of Stargate in HD. I would love to see a box set of the complete series of Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis.

I still buy the tv series on dvd , it is still hit and miss for blu and some of the prices are nuts. I was tempted to pick up Firefly when it came out and waited because it was 74.00 and I am glad I did because I got it at Future Shop for 29.99 before Christmas .

Yep, i'm waiting for The Office (US version).. really hope we see a blu release of that soon!

Also, 'Extras' (UK). They released the season finale on blu, so hopefully that is a sign that they will follow it up with seasons 1 & 2

If I really like the show, I'd bought DVD version first if it doesn't have blu-ray date yet ie. Gossip Girl, Kyle XY but after it release I then buy it again, like I did to Heroes season 1

I'm never tired of watching it because it's a whole new experience,
1st time on SD on little TV one EP per week
2nd time on SD on little TV back to back the whole season
3rd time on HD

I only buy Heroes and Lost. They are both on blu. I am not saying I don't like other shows, I just like those a lot.

Waiting for House and 24. Possibly Arrested Development, although if there was ever a new TV show that may not need an HD upgrade it's AD.

Not touching Lost or Supernatural till I know for a fact that the earlier seasons are coming out on BD. Only reason BSG gets a pass is that it's a SciFi title and I really like it (though 1&2 are going to end up being substantially better than 3&4 I think).
