It could very well be that in order to get the game out to us before the holiday they had to release it with out the split screen but will be adding it in patch download. I really hope so this game is by far the coolest fps on the ps3 yet and multi player offline is the only thing holding it back

It'll be nice to have the feature added as it would make a lot of people happy it was added in but me personally i don't really like playing FPS games in split screen unless it's for a co-op mode because if your playin people of a similar skill, seeing where your oponent is just above or below you just doesn't create a 'where is he/she' feeling that you should get but instead you know where they are & can easily figure out how to get to them

That just doesn't seem a big challenge to me, LAN play is much better to counter this in my opinion and much more challenging

I'll buy the game when they release the patch. Multiplayer with my buddies is the main reason for me buying the game.

I agree, but if HAZE comes out before that or in the same time frame, I'm gonna go with HAZE.

How hard is it to have 4 player splitscreen online gameplay? I mean, Resistance doesnt have it, COD4 doesnt, and now Unreal Tournament doesnt have it. Warhawk does, but I dont like the game. How card can it be to add this feature into games?

Im still suprised that its a feature that so many people seem to care about. I thought with online mp making such an impact that the days of mp offline were limited. Like Epic apparently...I appear to be wrong.

I think a lot of people (those who make games anyhow) have really underestimated how much people enjoy split screen gaming. Not just in shooters, but Motostorm and other racers also. I'd love to see a Double Dash type game on the PS3 with Sony characters. Kratos could ride a pegasus. Nariko could... be hot. Nathan Drake and Elena could ride a jungle jeep... I digress.

Split screen game is fun on a stick. And more party games. Rock Band is great for that, but something like Mario Party, or Monopoly, or Jeopardy. Something.

It's actually quite hard. Four player splitscreen is four times the rendering work.

heck ill be happy with 2 player splitscreen on UT3 but 4 player would be soooooo sweet

The patch would need a ton of work.. I dont see why everyone wants the offline split screen multiplayer..

But thats just me..
