Default Denon 887/2307 users..Volume levels?

I know this is a very hard question to answer given everyones different room size and speaker types but can I get an idea of volume levels when watch BD's with PCM.

I sometimes have to turn the volume up to -20 to -15 to get it loud and that seems awfully high. When I watch TV(Dish Network) it's at -40 to -30 on normal channels and -30 to -20 on HD channel with DD or Dolby Pro Logic.

There is a method to calibrate your theater to what is known as reference volume which will enable you to hear what the engineer who mixed the soundtrack expects you to hear.

So if you compare different theaters that are calibrated, they should all sound very close in terms of volume.

Do a search on the forum and you'll find the information.
