Don't think I've ever seen this one. I was confusing it with the Clint Eastwood mountain-climbing thriller (the title escapes me but I thought it was similar to "Killer Elite"). Anyway, this will be a sure blind-buy. I'm glad many of these neglected movies are getting new lives, even if they make us a little poorer in the process

The Wild Side disc is good so it'll have to offer something more to get me to buy this as well. A fully uncut version would be nice but I doubt the footage still exits. Anchor Bay did a really nice double DVD of The Osterman Weekend, its about time it made an appearance on blu.

VERY excited by this news. I never got around to importing the French Blu-ray, so it will be nice to replace my old non-anamorphic dvd. The one title that I so want them to release is Meteor. I love disaster flicks and Sean Connery movies. That film has also only been released in cruddy 4x3 letterbox. I have the 16:9 german dvd but the Pal speedup is noticeable.

Is this a good way of predicting what TT will release? What other UA films have been released overseas that might be released in the US? I'm hoping for ON THE BEACH. This was thought to be coming from Criterion. I don't really care who releases it as long as there's a quality edition.

My sentiments exactly. The Wild Side disc is nice though annoyingly the original UA blue T flower opening logo has been substituted. It'll certainly do for me unless TT pull some kind of rabbit out the hat and have access to the original cut/uncut version but the likelihood of that is somewhere between slim and non-existent.

For Comcast customers this is available free on demand - via MoviePlex(?). Not sure if that's a channel or what, but it shows up as a free movie in the on demand section.
No idea if it has anything to do with Twilight Time, or just a coincidence, but several of the titles licensed by Twilight Time have popped up there..."Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia" was also on there. There were a bunch more that have come and gone, not sure what's still up... I just happened to notice Killer Elite was a new one. Looked pretty good too, even though it was 1080i. |
