Default Questions about Film Noir

Hello guys,

I decided to focus my collection on Film Noir because i love that genre but i have some questions.

- Which Studio/Distributor in Europe has the most Film Noir titles?

- How do you buy the Film Noirs from outside Europe? (which is the best place to buy them? On Warner Archive his website or Kino Lorber or Amazon etc?)

- If you import them, what is the cheapest way to get them (because of the extra shipment costs and maybe fees)

Thanks!

What i mean with this is; Do you order them 1 by 1 and then pay like 10-15$ shipping or is there a cheap eBay store to buy these titles or is Kino the cheapest etc etc

I'd always used Amazon.com for Kino releases and they often have sales....there is one right now.
I'd buy one with a cheap catalogue title ($6 or less) would usually work out paying £12 max per movie (when total is split) all in. Two $13 titles would then add the import, so not worth it. The cheap titles normally would be unreleased here so even better.

But WoWHD seem better and priced better. No postage so any amount of titles.

Brexit has almost halted my importing, certainly blind buys unless it's something limited.

But do you buy like 10 titles Kino in one order? And then no fees?

The thing with importing for me is;

- The product price
- Shipping
- Import fee
- Handling fee

Its PLUS PLUS PLUS and really annoying. The shipping is not cheap and then another 2 extra things you need to pay is killing. A title that is for example 20$ will be $40 in the end

I edited after re reading your posts, Amazon was one KL (or whatever normal priced release at around the $16 mark) plus a cheap movie to split the post cost and effectively importing two at say £12 a title all in. Otherwise two $15+ titles together, import tax was added and made it a stupid price.

WoWHD it doesn't matter the order amount as they reshio in U.K.

I've used Deep Discount which is also WoWHD, they don't charge import tax (or never used to) they are the same price as Wow when postage is added in, but they often do decent % off deals for big orders.

Blu rays for everyone can be expensive, but it's well packaged, fast and can contact and sort out a deal. Also, if not on site email and they'll source it.

I'd be looking at wowhd for all imports from Kino and Warner.

Only advice I can offer here as a US dude is to NOT use Amazon's currency converter, as they charge you for the privilege. Just let your bank convert it (unless you have an a-hole bank that charges for it too).

Never had any problem importing from any, but Wow are the quickest.

Price wise, before brexit, Amazon.com during the KL sales I picked up most of them. There is a sale on now, but nothing grabs me.

You forgot to say how big your orders are then (that makes a huge difference) If you order 2-5 titles it probably will get through but did you placed a order for like 200-400$? Thats what i wanna know

Amazon.com is kinda expensive with the shipping but i will take a look thanks!

By the way DeepDiscount FAQ: Country can charge custom duty so it is not that DD is not charging them.

Just use wowhd, you don't have to worry that way about how many titles you are ordering.

Pretty sure all the wowhd sites have similar prices just in different currencies. But if you are in the UK, use wowhd.co.uk

Since you're Dutch you could also use Wowhd.nl with its incredibly crummy Dutch machine translation. The checkout process is in English.

For importing stuff I often just wait for stuff to show up on ebay, just search blu import and set it to uk only.
