I was browsing this site that shows forthcoming German Blu-rays, & way off in September it's showing a 4K release, so I suppose these films are a'coming.

I saw there was a database entry up for this. It says release date September 4. Strange cover though.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has officially announced that it will release the popular Bad Boys films on 4K Blu-ray. The collection will be available for purchase on September 4.

Smith and Lawrence play loose cannon narcotics detectives solving major crimes in Miami with action and humor. Presented in unique, must-own packaging, both films are fully restored from their original camera negatives and presented with High Dynamic Range and all-new Dolby Atmos audio tracks. The Bad Boys 4K Blu-ray Collection also includes Blu-ray copies of each film with all previously released bonus content.

I hope to god that they do release Lawrence Of Arabia on 4K. The thought of that being released makes me . The standard blu-ray picture is gorgeous itself, so the thought of it being perfected even further makes me excited. My number 1 wish list and my top 3 (maybe even number 1) movie of all time. Please release it Sony, only you can do this epic film justice

As for this film I haven’t seen it yet. I don’t know if I should blind buy them or not. Most likely I will though.

Taxi Driver is on UK Netflix in 4K, I'd say it's a pretty safe bet.

I've heard this was one they were going to release (I believe it was teased as a double feature with Baby Driver) that was scrapped due to lack of interest. Might just be a rumor, but yeah. Too bad, if true.

RE: Bad Boys, what's the deal with the packaging? Why does it look like it's vinyl-sized?

I thought I'd read that the Guns of Navarone negative suffered some kind of mishap and is unsalvageable, which is why it never got a proper restoration. The current transfer is acceptable but there's LOTS of room for improvement. Without the proper elements, what can be done to prepare the film for 4K?

As for the Bad Boys films, they should look spectacular on 4K. These should be a real treat.

As for the Bad Boys films, they should look spectacular on 4K. These should be a real treat.

Guns got a 4K restoration several years ago, but 4K isn't a magic bullet if the source material isn't in the best shape, in this case being full of dupes, opticals and faded o-neg, with no decent protection materials as back-up. It is what it is, but I'll still be buying the eventual 4K disc without hesitation.
