Default 47 Meters Down

Quote:
“The Vampire Diaries” and “The Originals” star Claire Holt, pictured, has landed the co-lead role opposite Mandy Moore in 47 Meters Down, the Dimension Films underwater thriller that we reported on yesterday.

“The two will play sisters on a dream vacation to Mexico who become trapped in a shark observation cage at the bottom of the ocean, with oxygen running low and hungry great whites circling nearby. They have less than an hour of air left to figure out how to get to the surface.”

Johannes Roberts is directing the pic and he co-wrote it with Ernest Riera.

“Twenty-something sisters Kate and Lisa are gorgeous, fun loving and ready for the holiday of a lifetime in Mexico.
When the opportunity to go cage diving to view Great White sharks presents itself, thrill-seeking Kate jumps at the chance while Lisa takes some convincing. After some not so gentle persuading, Lisa finally agrees and the girls soon find themselves two hours off the coast of Huatulco and about to come face to face with nature’s fiercest predator. But what should have been the trip to end all trips soon becomes a living nightmare when the shark cage breaks free from their boat, sinks and they find themselves trapped at the bottom of the ocean. With less than an hour of oxygen left in their tanks, they must somehow work out how to get back to the boat above them through 47 meters of shark-infested waters.”

The picture is set to shoot in the UK and also at Pinewood Dominican Republic Studios’ new exterior water tank for the extensive underwater scenes which comprise the majority of the pic.

Production is now set to start in June with Mark Lane and James Harris producing via their The Tea Shop and Film Company, the outfit behind Cockneys Vs. Zombies and Tower Block.

Americans don't understand the Metric system so they had to change it.

Not sure why they didn't just change it to 154.19948 Feet Down.

Directed by Johannes Roberts, gave a good lecture back at University, shame he's yet to direct a good flick.

What do you mean? They did the classic The Other Side of the Door that came out earlier this year.

Apparently, the success of The Shallows has caused Freestyle releasing to buy the rights to this film and will release it on like 2000 screens sometime next year. http://www.brutalashell.com/2016/07/...nemas-in-2017/

Here's the thing though. The film was originally going to be released on DVD and digital next Tuesday, so this deal was literally done at the last possible second, so the DVD release has been pulled. However, there's rumors on imdb (so take with a grain of salt), that Wal-Mart released the film early in some stores before pulling it off the shelves.

This is a bit unheard of.

I'm always looking at the crappy straight-to-dvd movies Walmart always has too. I wish I would've known, I would've paid more attention.

It got an name change don't remember the reason though but then it was released onto DVD at Target stores and if you come across it should just buy it and resell it cause there hard to come by.

Looks like my worst nightmare, but how long can it really take to ascend 47 metres?

Has anything been changed from the original DVD release or is it the exact same movie?

I think there were some re-shoots or at least special effects have been beefed up.

I read an article where it mentions the ending is shocking and you don't really see it coming.. I'm quite curious to find out how "great" that ending is despite the fact I have no interest in this movie.

I didn't see it coming, but it still kinda chickened out. It was headed to be super redeeming and great, if they would have left the final 5 minutes off.
