I am not 100% on this but this usually means total replacement of the screen. I could be wrong but I have dealt with this smaller electronic devices and they had their screens placed.

I have seen people try to flash red, green and blu (yes, blu) a lot on their screens to try to 'unstick' any pixels and they've had some success but I'd say it's more luck but worth a shot. Also I have seen people claim that gently rubbing the pixels can help it too, but I don't see how this would help (from a technical standpoint). If you haven't gotten it long ago, take it back. If you have, keep it, or sell it and save up for a bigger/better one.

I have heard, that you can use a stylus to press down on the screen at the point were the stuck pixel is, and that might unstick it. but I am not completely sure. It does work on my Computer LCD screen.

Actually there are 3 things you can do to fix stuck pixels. Now these do not always work. The stuck pixels on your screen are green or blue, while the red one is a hot pixel. I don't not believe you can fix hot pixels. If your Television is still under the 1 year warranty by the company that made the TV you should call them. Here is a link to the pixel fixes. http://www.instructables.com/id/S47NYKAFABRX1T7/ if you scroll down a bit it says "Next Step" click that to go to the next page.

I believe manufacturers still will only exchange if more than a certain # are bad. Previously, they would not consider a single pixel a defect, but perhaps things have changed.

The TV manufacturers have different percentages of total pixels that must be bad to warrant a panel or display replacement.
Unfortunately this is usually pretty high, 10-20 pixels or more. Try some of the methods that have been mentioned here. I personally unstuck 5 pixels on my PC monitor that had been plaguing me for quite a while, however, I still have one "hot" pixel that's never gone off red. |

There have been a few posts on AVS in the Pioneer Plasma threads (under Flat Panel Displays) stating that some users have had good luck un-sticking pixels by playing "The Incredibles" DVD. A couple of them had to play it more than once but it worked for some of them. I don't know why it works but it seems to be effective with all colors of stuck pixels even though the DVD uses a lot of red.
It certainly wouldn't hurt to try it if you have the DVD laying around. |

it's not because it is a sharp..all LCD tvs have the same chance of getting a stuck pixel as the next. It's just the way it is and it sucks. I have had a sharp for 8 months now and not a signle thing is wrong. and I have had a sammy for a 1year and a bit and nothing. just unlucky i guess.

The LCD panel itself has a matrix of horizontal and vertical traces (very small wires) which are used to address the pixels. Defects which occur during manufacturing cause one pixel (red, green or blue at one location) to be stuck in a state, usually unenergized. If the defect is borderline, it may not be bad out of the box but instead fail after a bit of use.
