Default stuck pixels on Sammy plasma

I have a Samsung Plasma PN510 50 inch that has started showing a stuck red pixel. It flickers off and on regardless of what is being displayed, but is obviously more noticeable during black backgrounds. I have looked a bit on the internet, and have used some pixel removing screens/seizure inducers on YouTube, and no luck. I have heard about pressing a pen into the stuck pixel and turning on the TV, but am a little hesitant to try that. Anyone have good tips on fixing stuck pixels on plasmas? Thanks for your help!

I read somewhere about gently massaging the pixel, but I would definitely read up about first before doing anything. Did you try doing screen wipes, or running "snow" for like 24 hours?

I have personally used the pen-press technique and cleared a few dead pixels on an LCD monitor....however, I didn't actually use a pen, but the eraser on a pencil.

The key is...locate exactly where the dead pixel is, then press a soft cloth up against the screen over the pixel (a micro fiber cloth is a good option since it won't scratch the screen). Try your best to remember where the pixel was exactly, turn the TV off, and lightly press the pencil eraser up against the cloth over the pixel. Do this a few times, but again, be very gentle...too much pressure can cause more dead pixels. This method got rid of 2 dead pixels for me

Good luck!

Edit: I read somewhere that a white or black pixel is considered "dead" and possibly fixable, but pixels that are of a certain color are "stuck" and unfix-able...not sure how much truth there is to this so someone with a greater knowledge on the subject can chime in

I believe the he has a plasma and I think it would be pretty hard to use your technique on glass panel. I'm not saying it would not work on a LCD, but a plasma its a no go.

The bigger question is where did you get the television from?

Yes, you are right he does and that's a good point...never tried it on a plasma before

Got the TV from Best Buy over a year ago. It's still under manufacturer's warranty, but I'm looking for a homemade solution before I go to that end. Might try running snow for a longer period-- anyone had any experience with that?

If you bought it over a year ago, how is it still under manufacturers warranty?

You're right, I don't know what I was thinking. No longer under warranty.
