Default Little Women (2018)

Quote:
A modern retelling of Louisa May Alcott's classic novel, we follow the lives of four sisters - Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy March - detailing their passage from childhood to womanhood. Despite harsh times, they cling to optimism, and as they mature, they face blossoming ambitions and relationships, as well as tragedy, while maintaining their unbreakable bond as sisters.
Trailer:

I'm a big fan of the novel, and also the 1994 movie, but I'm not convinced by this modern retelling of the story. Also, I haven't see the 2017 TV-Series, which looks not too bad at all. Anyway I can see the need of modernize this timeless story, and surely that new movie could please a younger audience, but I'll personally skip it! Any thought?

I saw the trailer before Ocean's 8 and it screamed a random Christian flick until the title reveal. I'll be skipping it personally as the trailer doesn't interest me.

I saw the trailer too.

Looks like it belongs on Lifetime.

I agree with you guys. This screams made for TV, direct to DVD etc.

Okay, but a 'little' sappy and formulaic.

Not like many people are beating down her door for her to be in their movies.

Back to the future was 30 years ago. You’re making it sound like her career took a quick and sudden nosedive.

I didn't know that they're making that many. I'm aware that there's a contemporary set version set for release this fall and a show called Little Women: LA on TV somewhere but I don't think that's it related.

The 1994 version was sheer perfection in my eyes. I loved that film. It has to have one of the best cast ever assembled for a film.

Gender swapping is in these days, right? Surely it'll be an all-male cast and be re-titled as Little Men.

Not necessary. Louisa May Alcott already wrote that novel.

Has there been one of those creature remakes yet? Like Pride and Prejudice and Zombies? Make one of them.

New trailer they’re showing before Whitney

This actually seems like it might be decent? This is a much better trailer.

That's nothing, you should see what Jane Eyre has. 5 silent films, 8 talkies, and 10 for TV! And that's not counting the ones with different titles!
