Hello you all
Well own some 4k movies but not a 4k player. When i want to watch them i have to go to my little brother's house to watch them on the xbox thing. Well now it's time to buy me one myself. Any good recommendations if it could with a region free blu ray play on it if it's possible. I own a American blu ray player for the imports but hey if it's included i take it. Money to burn 1200 euro's Looked for a oppo 203 uhd but nowhere to be found. |

Oppo Bluray Players are not being made anymore and are no longer being sold on Oppo's official website. The only place to buy an Oppo Blu-ray player is on Ebay, and the asking price for them from third party sellers is triple. |

Yeah, the Panasonic 820 is a good bet. Upgrade the remote and you’re set.

You're referring to the Panasonic DP-UB820-K? It has Dolby Vision which I want because I have a Sony OLED with Dolby Vision. But the voice control stuff isn't something I'm terribly interested in but I'm sure my wife would love it. Just want to make sure I'm looking at the right one because right now it's about double what I paid for the "highly rated" POS Sony 700 player. Regarding the replacement remote: Are you referring to the HCDZ remote that's listed for the Panasonic 900 models? Will that work for an 820 player? Or is there another brand/model of remote you would recommend? Sorry for the noob questions, I'm more of a 'plug-in-and-play' when it comes to my level of expertise. |

I'm not sure what HCDZ is, but the remote some of us have been buying is the one that comes with the 900 or 9000 Panasonic player. I believe this is the exact one I have. Very sturdy and very good button clicks. The one that comes with is decent enough, but this one just blows it out of the water. I don't know anything about voice control. |

Not sure about Europe but if you pay more than $15 for it you are being ripped off. They should have certified cables that are 6ft or shorter for that price. I never had to upgrade my high speed cables with Ethernet I bought for my previous hd tv. So you may not even need to buy cables.

If you're okay with buying generic no-name HDMI 2.0 cables, you can certainly find a 6ft for $8 and probably do fine with it, but if you want something that has a quality build and higher bandwidth, you have to jump up to the $20 or more cables that have HDMI 2.1 certification. That being said, I have a small pile of HDMI 2.0 cables and haven't bought any 2.1 yet, as I have no need for a 2.1 cable and own no 2.1 products at this time.

The 820 comes with the mid-range remote. It's not bad. But the 9000 and earlier Panasonic UHD BD players came with a sleeker backlit remote with nice clicky buttons.

I agree with the choice of 820. It's a nice player.
It also has a hefty, luxurious feel to it, which doesn't affect what you hear or see on screen, but is a nice touch in an era of cheaper and cheaper lightweight players that slide around the desk when you push the disc tray closed. |

Mine used to sound like it was going to take off with certain discs, this is before I got an 'isolation platform' for it. Though that's more to do with my glass TV stand than the player itself. |
