Default What movie do you most enjoy watching on 4K Blu-ray and why?

Irrespective whether it's already on 4K Blu-ray, has been announced to be issued on 4K Blu-ray, or still isn't available on the format for whatever reason, why movie do you, or would you most enjoy watching on the 4K Blu-ray format and please say why.

I think I would most enjoy watching The Devils on 4K Blu-ray because it's desperately in need of a proper release.

Older catalog titles such as Groundhog Day and Across the Universe. I hadn’t seen either movie in a while, but I could see a significant difference in the picture quality for both. Sony Pictures seems to take the restoration or remastering of their movie library seriously. I look forward to future releases from them.

Sicario. It’s my favorite movie presently and it’s just dang perfect on UHD.

If done well, Ready Player One might take the crown. Not as good of a movie but it is supremely watchable and should be a heck of a disc.

I have never been one to watch a single movie over and over. I usually space out viewings, and enjoy them once every 1-3 years while hoping to forget things and then notice new things upon an additional viewing. My most disappointing experiences have come from trying to recapture magic from a second viewing shortly after seeing an amazing movie for the first time. Because it's too soon; you remember everything, it's not as good the second time, and there isn't anything new to pick up on since you havne't had time to digest anything.

Oh would it be a curse to have a photographic memory. I bet none of them have physical media collections lol

Power Rangers. It took me by surprise, as I thought it was an awesome movie. Also has a really good Atmos track and PQ.

Childhood favorites like Labyrinth or Ghostbusters are pretty good examples since I never got to see them in the theater as a kid and mainly watched them on vhs growing up.

I'm sure I'll revisit this thread in 9 months time when I'm watching my collection again on an OLED? For now my fav UHD Blu-ray is The Mummy. (1999)

It's just soooo rewatchable. So entertaining as a film on it's own. And the UHD blew everyone away. I'm not even seeing it as good as others yet (HDR lacks on the LCD I use). Can't wait...

I'm 43. The movies I grew up with are '80s movies in the theater as well as many '80s and earlier movies on VHS rental.

So for me any movies that are '80s or earlier are my favorites in UHD. I own all of the small amount of movies in UHD from the '80s or earlier and the only movie I'd owned on DVD (or owned at all) was Ghostbusters. So for me it's a good excuse to rewatch movies I hadn't seen in years in the best the movie has probably ever looked and sounded. I even bought Labyrinth, and I don't even really like the movie but I do love Muppets.

My biggest surprise like is The Mummy.

Current 4K’s I have watched a lot are the John Wicks.

If I had to pick my all time wish list. The Bonds are #1. Die Hard and Saving Private Ryan we’re on that list.

Movies from 90s and earlier. I love experiencing competently-made remasters. It feels like watching them for the first time.

So, so far it's Leon: The Professional, Dracula, Blade Runner, Starship Troopers.

In my UHD collection it would have to be either Arrival, Dunkirk & Blade Runner 2049. I think I've re-watched those the most.

Lawrence of Arabia is Sony, right? Minds will be blown. All minds.

For now, the Sony catalog releases are hard to believe. I'd have sooner thought I'd live in a space colony by now 15 years ago than to be able to screen 35mm like Leon or A Few Good Men with the size and image quality that I do now.

Blade Runner (1982) is my current favorite though. Transcendent. Borderline life affirming.

Surprisingly, catalog titles, and more recent titles that have a more filmic quality.
My favorites so far have been OG Blade Runner, Fifth Element, and Groundhogs day (which was my first time viewing it). And more recent releases like Sicario and Zero Dark Thirty have been a delight to rewatch in 4k.

You can depend on Sony to do catalog titles right.
