Why even bother wasting time there? With recent events that have unfolded at the CES, only the misguided continue to stay there.

HDD exists as pure entertainment. I check it on occasion just what stupid arguments people are having at that moment. Its quite hilarious.

Sadly many HD DVD fanatics will remain stuck in the past looking for some insane reason why HD DVD can make a comeback.

We can all see what their real agenda was all along, with the number who say they will now only buy DVD or champion downloading as the future.

What a strange lot.

What was worse about AVS before the purge was that most of the posters knew better. They had sunk thousands into home theater equipment and were arguing for a badly inferior technology. HDD fanboys were mostly of the clueless Xbot variety so they never bothered me as much.

AVS atmosphere has improved dramatically. The Warner decision has tipped enough of the true movie lovers into the Blu-ray camp to almost even the numbers, despite the diaspora of refugees to this site which happened all throughout last year.

It's still not what I'd call comfortable there, but I've been holding my own in discussions this past week, and that's not something I'd have expected to see for a while.

HDD is putrid. It's like watching a train wreck over there.

Didn't most of thr red ants migrate to HDD after the AVS cleanup. Gone downhill since then IMO.

Sounds cozy over there. They exiled me until the 14th. I suppose my Blu-ness was a bit too masculine. Looks like they did me a favor. I prefer it here.

2 days ago I posted, "SOMETIMES silence SPEAKS LOUDER THAN WORDS," in reference to the cancellation of the hd dvd press conference and Universal's no comment stance.
It got erased in about 1 to 2 minutes time. I posted it again and it got erased even sooner.
I then received a private message from a mod. telling me that I had received infractions and a 7 day suspension.
highdefdigest.com is still trying to dupe people into believing in hd dvd.
They are heartless shills.

i've admittedly gotten pretty nasty over there... but the irony is, the only one to give me points (infractions) is HD DED. so much for biased moderating on his part, huh?

(that's not a complaint, by the way - i was allowing myself to get baited pretty badly and was REALLY getting nasty with some of the stupider red ants over there)

not really fair. the moderation and ownership of the site are relatively even-handed.

witness their "adjustment" of the ordering of names and forums and the lack of change even after the flood of hot, salty tears of shame 'n sorrow (mixed with sweet, sweet ambrosia of rejection) from the red ants.

Yeah, I joined there a few weeks ago and that became very evident. It just goes to show that people who are boycotting blu-ray because they prefer HD-DVD care nothing for HDM, they're just looking for a clique.

Kind of like when I was trying to decide between a Zune or a video iPod and the main reason listed on many pro-apple sites was to *not* buy a Zune only because it came from Microsoft and "th;re'a teh suxxorr!!@!@!@!11oneonoeneoen!!!@#@!!"

AVS is paranoid and they should just shut the HD hardware/software boards down if they're gonna be that way. I've had several extremely harmless, rational posts deleted for no reason this week. I'm sick of it there.

I just registered on the HDD forums. Are they suspending/deleting posts (like the example from Richard) even from their "smackdown" areas?
