No Direction Home: Bob Dylan (A Martin Scorsese Picture) - September 30, 2016 - Blu-ray Forum

It looks like Scorsese's great Dylan documentary No Direction Home (2005) will finally be released on Blu-ray on September 30th. This 10th Anniversary Deluxe edition is a Best Buy Exclusive for now, but will likely get a wide release down the road.

That quick and out of nowhere... This was the thing that got me into Dylan and changed my life in certain ways.

Can't believe this is coming in just a few weeks.

I will be buying this Day 1!

Also, buying day one. I think this will have the 90 minutes of extra footage they're screening this year in Tulsa.

Besides Hugo, this is my favorite Scorsese project of the 21st century.

I also thought that many of the interviews were SD, so I never thought we'd get this on Blu.

I think most of the interviews were shot on film in the 90's/early 2000's way before Scorcese ever got involved.

Link has been removed from Best Buy.com. Probably went up too early. I think this release will coincide with the Bootleg Series Vol. 13, scheduled to hit shelves this year.

I have a feeling the inexperienced employees at best buy may be putting this out early in some places. "It's a blu-ray and blu-ray's come out Tuesdays" is probably what they're thinking. Though I checked Tuesday and they weren't out yet. I'm going to check today, otherwise we should see it on the shelves tomorrow or Saturday.

I remember when the Total Recall remaster came out and it wasn't out on shelves a week after. I asked a guy working and he asked me, "Do you really want it?" Like he wouldn't go in the back to get it for me unless I was going to buy it. Jeez. Why wasn't it on the shelf to begin with?

BTW, it's streaming on Amazon.

Does anybody's store actually have this in stock? I'm assuming each are getting only a couple because I cannot find any store that has it available for in-store pickup.

No stores near me have it for pick up, but I'm going to check tomorrow when I have a chance. Somebody on the Dylan forum Expectingrain.com ordered it and got an update saying it's not going to be delivered til October 21st, due to lack of stock.

Amazon Canada says they'll have it on October 7th. I'll go that way, if Best Buy doesn't have it by next Wednesday.

In the meantime, you can stream the full thing, plus all of the new bonus features when you stream it on Amazon Video. It's only $4.99, but it's in SD.

I have seen it many times, and still own the DVD. I might swing by BB later tonight to check.
