Looks like they went back and used the same designs as they had with the Batman: Under the Red Hood movie. I don't know how much more they can really explore with the Death in the Family, though, since this is only an extended DC Showcase short.

I'm guessing each of the optional alternate endings will feature a different version of who Jason Todd becomes after his "death" --- Hush, Red Hood, or Red Robin. I'm curious how this will play out in the digital release version, since the interactive feature is only available on blu-ray. I suppose the digital version will be extended to show all three alternate endings within a single run of the movie.

Someone in the 4k thread for this said there will be both interactive and non interactive versions I believe.

In the trailer, it says that the interactive version is only available on blu-ray, so I assume the digital version is interactive free. Unless you mean that you think both versions will also be available on blu-ray, which does make sense for those of us who would rather watch the movie straight through and see all the optional endings without having to play a game with our remote controls.

Yeah, I just saw in the 4K thread that someone suggested a "view-all" feature for playing the film in one viewing with all three options. That's probably what they'll do.

Bruce Greenwood is always welcome as Batman in my opinion. Looking forward to this one.

Honestly, this is not what I was expecting, but OMG, it's SO good to see the Under the Red Hood art style again!! You think Superman will be in the story, like in the original comic?

Well, you see... various mediums have various options creating alternate choices featuring various versions of the same story but with various options of alternate endings thus creating alternate timelines happening in various continuities which make up alternate worlds or alternate universes parallel to the original but each varying slightly from each other, but you can choose which you'd like to view or be a part of by choosing from the various options given to you within the various mediums provided.

Gives a whole new meaning to multiverse, I guess.

Death in the Family has already been done with Under the Red Hood so it would take quite a hook for me to get it.

Having it be a prequel to B v S would do the trick.

I think the hook is the interactive gimmick and the alternate takes on who Jason Todd becomes, or rather could have become. But I agree -- as I said in an earlier post, Under the Hood pretty much covered what matters most, so I'm not sure this is going to be something that's necessary for everyone. I'm still on the fence myself about whether or not I need to own it.

Runtime is officially 170 minutes.

But I'm pretty sure that's including ALL the different cutscenes, so each individual playthrough will be significantly shorter than that.

We should also consider that some of that 170 minutes runtime may not just be alternate scenes, but also the additional Showcase shorts that are included.

Superman/Shazam is listed as 63 minutes long, but in actuality it is only a little over 24 minutes, while the rest of the time counted is made up of about 39 minutes of the other Showcase shorts that are on the disc.
