hopefully this is a very early build, looks pretty choppy. count me interested, though

it's like Devil May Cry meets anime Souls-esque bosses (or Code Vein) with a hint of Gravity Rush art style

Personally am not impressed by the graphics from a next gen standpoint and that's especially given how some Indy devs have pulled off better looking titles.

This is between PS3 & PS4 graphics in terms of what i've seen thus far and they would really need to bat it out the park with the story.

This is developed for the ps4/X1, and they’re porting it for next gen

That may be true but you could say that for Black Ops Cold War and how good that looks on next gen despite having a current gen release due. So does Cyberpunk 2077.
The games that i felt were marginal upgrades have always predominantly seemed to be coming out of Japan.

The devs there seem to be a bit behind the graphical curve in many aspects.

Just finished the demo and really enjoyed it, I’m very excited to play the full game in about a month. Love the visual style of this game.

One issue I did have is that that pop in is pretty bad in the big open areas which is very surprising to see on the PS5 version.

Japan does not put a lot of focus on graphics. In fact I say 80% of the time they don’t even care about that which is why they make so many games for iOS and Android because they feel graphics don’t matter as much as the game itself so usually make Smartphone games where they don’t need to put a whole lot of effort into the graphics. Like if the graphics are good but the game sucks then all you are doing is polishing a turd by giving it top notch graphics. As long as the Animation of the game is stable without problems I don’t really care what the game’s graphics are like.

Another thing to consider is that games like Call Of Duty and Cyberpunk 2077 sell millions of copies. Japanese games usually do not for being niche. Many Japanese games even use 2D even on current systems in many scenes of the game or even have many scenes of the game where there is no Voiced dialogue just Text dialogue.

So for a Japanese game this is top notch. Not as good as more popular games but still pretty well done.

Personally i feel that Japanese games have fallen behind the curve because they're not keeping up. If anything, it's gotten easier to make things look graphically better with the modern engines like Unreal 5 even and so on.

Focusing on animation and quality etc. is good and all, but the world's moving on for console gaming and by catering to iOS and Android mobile games, it's actually sending a message that Japanese gaming is more interested in MTX and staying locked in a yesteryear way of game development. That's just how i view it as let's be honest, the moment developers become locked to lower hardware specs and restrictions, they stagnate.

Have to double check the Price.

The PSN Store isn’t showing pre-orders. Must be a glitch in their system.

After searching for it, I see (Canadian) $80 for Standard & $106 for Deluxe. Mmmm.. Why they charge $6 more for the Deluxe vs. Ratchet makes no sense but neither does the Canadian dollar.

Just over 15GB for the PS5 version; roughly 4GB smaller than the PS4 version.

Seems to be getting pretty solid reviews so far. Good to see even though the demo didn't do that much for me, but I will likely give the demo another shot as I never managed to play it for very long the first time. With Ratchet & Clank and Final Fantasy 7 Remake again, I likely wouldn't have played it anytime soon, so I've got time to figure it out.

Well, that didn't take long. It's release day and the game is already on sale for $50.

Probably matching Walmart’s in store price for all Non-Sony games. But thanks to Target doing that I can use the $15 promo credit I had and get this for $37 on Day 1 to continue piling on my recent backlog…

It's becoming an addiction, like me in the early days of Blu-ray.

Didn't think of that, but possibly. If I had a promo credit like that too, I might have bought it too, but it's still probably for the best given what I have to play in the meantime.
