Paramount Crawl 4K UHD (2019)

Paramount will be releasing Crawl (2019) on 4K UHD on September 20th!

Quote:
When a massive hurricane hits her Florida town, young Haley ignores the evacuation orders to search for her missing father, Dave. After finding him gravely injured in their family home, the two of them become trapped by the rapidly encroaching floodwaters. With the storm strengthening, Haley and Dave discover an even greater threat than the rising water level -- a relentless attack from a pack of gigantic alligators

Put the 4K discs out right away. It's ridiculous and obvious greed to get fans to pay twice.

I mean, I'm buying it, but after this and Malignant, I'm not buying a new release unless it's 4K.

That's what I want to know, it doesn't make sense.

Don't know how much better it could be. The blu-ray is that good. I'll probably bite () in a few months after a decent price drop.

Cool. The standard blu looks extremely good. And this has a native HDR master. IMDB (not very relatable, i know), shows a 4K DI, so I will be curious to see how much better it looks than the standard blu ray as that one was basically reference quality for 1080p/SDR.

Will be happy to upgrade.

I think Paramount finally realized there’s $$ to be made even with genre stuff (like Event Horizon, Fatal Attraction) and they’re now releasing such films on 4K disc.

Yes, it's been available to rent/purchase digitally in 4K Dolby Vision (no Atmos) for years. The UHD disc should look pretty incredible.

Glad I held off blind-buying the Blu-ray. Now I can blind-buy the 4K.

Finally, should have been released years ago.
Paramount seems to be on a good horror roll this year. Event Horizon in August, Friday the 13th in September and now this in September / October. If they also announce The Ring (20th Anniversary) and Scream 2 (25th Anniversary) for this October I will never complain about Paramount's horror output in 4K ever again XD""""

Sweet, I blind bought this on blu ray and really loved it. I’ll gladly upgrade.
I love Alexandre Aja’s filming style.

This is giddy fun. Awfully tempting to triple-dip...bought it on Vudu, then liked it so much, picked up the blu. Great mix of genuine thrills and laugh-out-loud chompy-chomp gator mayhem.

I assume this will be a one disc release. Not too crazy on the idea having to buy a separate 4K disc later on. Usually there's a choice to pick one upon initial release.

Boyhood isn't a Paramount title, they just briefly distributed the first BD back in 2015 for IFC Films.

I like the movie quite a bit but the blu is more than good enough so I'll pass until it gets a big discount. I can't and won't play this game with these greedy studios and buy things twice and at full price both times. I'm sure Adrift, The Wolf of Snow Hollow, The Cursed, 47 Meters Down, etc. will play the same game and when they drop significantly in price then I'll bite.
