Seems Disney/ABC is opening up about sublicensing some more (and to a company the did and still do sublicense no less).
![]() *sigh* If only ABC still had The Heartbreak Kid and times like this I wish Disney could sublicense Song of the South also. |

Does this mean we'll see blu-ray upgrades of Hitchcock's Rebecca, Notorious, and Spellbound?

I imagine the transfer would be similar to the one featured on the MGM BD (which I believe was a 4k scan, but I don't know if it was one MGM or Disney performed themselves or based on the elements Criterion used for their DVD).

It's a testament to Peckinpah's genius that nearly 50 years later this is still one hell of a disturbing film; I think this is easily Dustin Hoffman's best performance, and Susan George, who never got the career she deserved, is great as well.
I've been arguing the pros and cons of remakes on another thread and this is a case, like Carrie, where the remake is a straight-up insult; you can't remake perfection. It really is amazing in hindsight to think of how much potent cinema was released in the 70's. |

Excellent. I look forward to getting rid of both my US blu-ray and my Criterion DVD set.
