Dated for August 15th, 2023 on Blu-Ray & 4K UHD Blu-Ray!

The trailer looks wonderful. Makes me happy and a bit sad seeing these characters again, knowing how many of the original actors are gone now.

"Babylon5" on 4k might have to get this ( the voice actor for Sinclair sounds pretty good) nice animation too.

Looks interesting. I’m not a big B5 fan (I do like it) but I’ll definitely watch it.

I'm a huge space opera junkie and this is the one big space opera show I just couldn't get into. It bums me out.

Oh I am stoked for this! Hopefully it's better than Legend Of The Rangers. Lost tales turned out pretty good so there's hope.

Season 2 is when things typically click for most folks.

Season 1 can be an arduous experience if one cannot buy in early on but in order to enjoy the full tapestry of the multi-season spanning narrative threads the viewer has to watch S1 in its entirety.

In subsequent viewings it easier to skip over the less inconsequential material and watch the parts that inform the later realized mythology.

Love the show but not keen on how this animated movie looks one bit. That Flash animation alone is unwatchable.

Wow, I grew up with TNG and then DS9, ENT and lots of Trek
But B5 is my favorite of these kind of shows followed by Farscape and DS9.

Season 3+4 are AWESOME and the second half of Season 5 too!

Just finished the series about 2 weeks ago on Tubi. Will definitely be getting this. Hopefully, this means we'll soon get the series on Blu-ray or UHD.

The irony here though for us Venture Bros. fans is that this gets a UHD release and the VB only gets a Blu-ray release.

This feels like B5 meets Sliders, which is a fun idea. I'm on board! Also, JMS did record a commentary for this with Boxleitner. Bruce hadn't watched it ahead of time, and was apparently pretty awe-struck by it while recording with Joe. Here are the bonus features:

Quote:
Babylon 5 Forever (New Featurette) – join the cast and filmmakers as they reveal the process behind creating the first state-of-the-art, animated adaption of Babylon 5.
Audio Commentary with creator/writer/executive producer J. Michael Straczynski, actor Bruce Boxleitner and supervising producer Rick Morales.

I think I watched 1 and 2 and then quit before 3, iirc. I remember the new captain talking to shadow aliens or something at the end. I might give it a shot someday but my issue was mostly with tone and writing style, which I doubt changed much.

If you watched through season 2 and did not enjoy it then perhaps you will never like it. Certainly gave it a fair chance.

The theatrical stage like acting remains the same throughout the series. It is part of the charm of the show for those who enjoy it. Also just a wee bit campy.

The writing style also remains mostly the same, considered it was mostly written by JMS.

Maybe but Season 3+4 are a LOT better than Season 1+2...

Season 1+2 are more Star-Trek-esque, seasons 3+4 are more like LOTR in space.

As for the animated thing, the trailer looked interesting. I was a big fan of B5 in 90s. So it will be nice to see these characters again.
