How's the Sharp BDHP20 ? - Blu-ray Forum

Hi!

Just in case I can't convince my wife we need a PS3 as our Blu Ray player, how good is the Sharp model for people who have it?

Been reading here and there, globaly positive, but some hickups it seems.

Hi, have bought an Sharp BD-HS20S for 10 days ago, (because I have Sharp 46" 1080P LCD TV). Watching 3-4 films, very good quality on BD. BUT, after the latest use , I turn it on and the machine went crazy !

No way to open , ugly sound from tray, messages on screen told me that the tray was open.. or not supported DVD was inside.. Non of these things was true. Removed and checked all connections, same again next time. Today is OK.
I dont know what happend, if it happen again, I vill buy a Sony !

Yes, do you think it is a bug in the program ? Not yet seen any firmware updates.

I have one, it's been a great player and I haven't had any problems with mine.

Good to know, don't know why, got a good feeling about this one.

And (again if PS3 is a no go) later on I can always put it in the bedroom and get a 2.0 around Xmas

It has been a very good player , no problems to speak of. Its kinda the red headed step child to the Panny BD30 , but I understand you want a matching TV/player set up & thats fine . I think you will be happy with the Sharp BD Player

I got mine free with the Sharp Aquos offer a few weeks back. I was a little leary when I picked it up because it was "free", but to be honest...I like it a TON better than my Sony BDP-300. Nice player. No issues.
