I'm curious to see how they handle this one. I have the German Blu-Ray, which looks pretty decent but is cropped pretty badly.

One of the greatest films ever made finally comes to blu in the USA.

That is the only truly awful film - besides a few of Emmerich's - that I'm willing to revisit and own on Blu-ray. It deserves to be studied as seriously as any masterpiece, though for the opposite reasons (what not to do when making a film). Bring it on.

It's never a good sign when the official synopsis for the movie says it will leave you exhausted.

I haven't seen this since it came out in theaters. My GF hated it, but I really liked it in a so-bad-it's-good way. I've wanted to revisit it, and at Mill Creek prices? Excellent!

A fascinating and awful movie. I love failed blockbusters and this is easily one of the worst.

I have never seen this, but my curiosity will get the best of me. Luckily it’s Mill Creek so the price should be good. We’re there any features on the dvd that could get ported over here?

Not sure if Travolta ever really recovered from this film. I've wanted to see it based on how bad reviews were at the time. This movie was never going to be a hit and looked like an expensive SyFy channel movie.

This is one of the worst movies I've ever seen. I actually went to theaters to watch this and I still regret it. Never plan on watching this again.

However, this is still great news that it's getting a Blu-ray. I know it has its fans and I'm always excited to see titles never released on Blu-ray get a release.

There is one special feature that is absolutely essential to this movie that Mill Creek probably won't include - but you can buy it on its own and watch it when this releases.

This is the correct attitude. I've never stopped watching this Charlie Foxtrot of a film, can't wait to get it in HD for Mill Creek pricing!

For me it's a guilty pleasure kind-of-thing. yes, the acting is atrocious. Yes, the plot is alarmingly full of holes. Although the movie did not follow the book as it could have, it still had some great Sci-Fi effects. Day one purchase.

What's interesting is that Mill Creek is releasing Morgan Creek titles now. That had been regulated to Sony MOD for awhile. Hopefully the Pledge is around the corner.

I’ve been tempted to import the German Blu-ray for awhile, glad I won’t need to and it’ll be a cheap Mill Creek release. I remember actually enjoying this back in the day as a brainless sci-fi flick with glorious overacting by Travolta haha. I get a chuckle out of it as an engineer too since it’s inconceivable how they thought glass skyscrapers and jets with fuel would still be functional after 1000 years. One only needs to watch the TV series “Life After People” to really get an idea what the world would be like after 1000 years without mankind (sans aliens).

I know I saw this movie when it came out to VHS all those years ago but I was maybe 10/11 years old and don't remember anything except thinking how ridiculous the makeup looked compared to 'Star Trek: Voyager' (haha). I might actually pick this up to see what all the fuss was about. It would probably make a great double feature with 'Waterworld'.
