The Vincent Price Collection Blu-ray reissue

I just saw that Shout! Factory’s reissuing the first volume again on 9/22. It’s a great chance to pick it up again, instead of paying a huge chunk on money from eBay or Amazon. It’s identical to the 2013 release except for the introductions to the Corman films that he did for the Iowa public television called “Vincent Price’s Gothic Horrors”. I just preordered it an hour ago, and I’m so happy that I didn’t buy it off eBay.

It's worth noting that this reissue will include MORE extras PLUS the theatrical and extended cuts of The Masque of The Red Death (which will also be available for purchase individually):

I missed out on the original~just didn't know about it at the time. Now that I have part 2 and 3 I will gladly pick this one up!

Not just a new scan, a brand new 4K restoration by The Film Foundation from the original camera negative (plus some inserts from a rare UK print owned by Joe Dante).

Holy cow. I was never hot on getting this as I'm not a huge fan of these films, but I do know that it fetched crazy prices after it got pulled. Between this and Arrow's Django release, it's been a good year for retracted Blu-ray releases.

I totally lucked out on V1. I didn't pick it up, it went out of print, Shout! announced that they found a box in the back with a stash and I managed to jump on the very, very tiny window where they had they up for order. Sure I laid out full MSRP, but that was a damn sight better than the 300+ that it was going for on ebay.

I'm thrilled that the set finally came out again. Funny that it wasn't the movies holding it up, but the PBS spots.

Was this confirmed somewhere? Did not see this included in the original announcement, but was hoping this would be the new 4K scan.

This is excellent news but it's a shame about the PBS bumpers. Those are among my favorite extras.
