Default What setting do you use for 2.0 surround?

I have the Onkyo 605 and was watching Breaker Morant today which was DD 2.0. I thought if I set it to Pro Logic IIx it would matrix it into a 5.1 sound. It didn't, it only played the 2.0 audio. I didn't mess with everything because I had company over and they were annoyed when I began to mess with the audio, so I just left it.

Is there any way to create a 5.1 sound experience from a 2.0 source?

Your bd player will need to be set to output audio in bitstream not pcm for DD Pro Logic llx
do you use hdmi, optical, or coaxial digital cable between your bd player and your Onkyo

He's correct. Try switching your PS3 settings to bitstream, and it should then work correctly with Dolby Pro Logic IIX.
