if your receiver can handle the pcm then do automatic. and see what happens. i only uncheck the 5.1 and 7.1 pcm so i can matrix the sound from games.

i see your set can only get 5.1. is there a dislpay as to what is being output on the receiver?

you have something wrong on your receiver, some setting isnt correct, the PS3 should be set on auto detect since its HDMI, does ur receiver have the screen that shows what speakers are active like the onkyo 805/

If you guys are interested in what my stupidity was. I had turned the recievers volume almost all the way down, and turned up the televisions volume. I wasnt looking at the tv while doing this. Yea yea laugh it up
