Default Apocalypto & Blood Diamond

Anyone have these? Thinking of ordering both with Amazon Prime.

How's the quality?

Personally I would rent Apocalypto first. It's a love it or hate it thing. PQ is excellent.
Blood Diamond is great. It's very entertaining, well acted and sounds really good. The PQ could be better though.

Apocalypto is one of the best bd with very good pq and aq as long as you don't mind subtitled movies.

Apocalypto is an incredible film. Be forewarned, it is not an English language movie. The scenery, sets, costumes and make-up are breathtaking.

As for Blood Diamond, I only have it on oldray DVD. I found this movie disturbing. It really did not enjoy it.

Read the reviews of both movies right here on Blu-ray.com

apocalypto could be something not everyone likes... if you can get past the whole subtitle then the action scenes and landscapes are dope

Apocalypto is visually stunning with an intriguing story, so long as you can handle subtitles.

Blood Diamond is a compelling story founded in the abuse of morality over physical property. It can be quite disturbing in that sense. The PQ is slightly above average (VC-1 HD DVD encode ported over) and the SQ is pretty good too.

Apocalypto = Yes, for many reasons.
Blood Diamond = Yes, for powerful story.

My bad, guys. I should have made myself more clear with the initial post, lol.

I've seen both movies.......I meant to ask specifically about the Blu-Ray quality.

Apocalypto is pretty much reference quality. I havn't seen Blood Diamond but a few people have said it's a little inconsistent.

As far quality, both are excellent.
But everyone has different taste in movies,
so there's no way of saying whether or not you'll enjoy them.

I loved the story in both, and felt they were very powerful movies.
Definitely some of my favorites.

I own both Apocalypto and Blood Diamond. Apocalypto is one of the best movies on blu-ray. the pq and aq is amazing. As for Blood Diamond the aq is amazing but the pq leaves a little to be desired imo. Even then they are great movies to own on blu-ray.

Blood Diamond was my favourite movie of 2006, amazing story and incredible performances by everyone involved.

The South African accent is not an easy one, DiCaprio did a great job with it.

The sound quality of the Blu-ray alone is worth the pick-up and I didn't think the PQ was as bad as it was rated. It's not reference, but it doesn't detract from the movie.

Apocalypto is reference all round and is also a great flick.

Both definite purchases in my book.

I for one was surprised by Apocalypto. I originally was hesitant to even watch it let alone order it on Blu-ray. However, given all the hype I have heard regarding the movie and that it was produced by Mel Gibson, I decided what the heck. As soon as I popped it in my PS3, I was hooked. The PQ is astounding along with the storyline, etc. I highly recommend. I have not seen Blood Diamond though.
