Blood Diamond subtitles

I'm sorry if this has already been posted but I'm wathing Blood Diamond for the first time and I can't stand watching these subtitles. I couldn't find anywhere in the menu to turn them off. Were these part of the movie even in the theatres? If someone can tell me how to turn these off, I'd greatly appreciate it.

what are you watching it on? Get the pop up menu up then select set up/ language or whatever it says and turn them off.

Thanks gamma, I brought up the pop-up menu and was able to turn them off. That's goofy though that they had to turn those on by default. I have a PS3 by the way.

As being an anime junkie I read subtitles all the time, even terrible fan made ones, so sub never bother me. But if i wanted to turn them off, i would grab my Blu-ray remote and hit the subtitle button till it dissapears.
