Default Are you a BD bargain hunter?

There's a lot of talk on movie prices being a deterrent, but do they affect you? Do you stick out for sales?

I voted somewhat. If a title that I want is out, I just buy it. If I find a title that I would not otherwise buy is on sale, I may pick it up during the sale.

I love the BOGOs and the sale, and have participated frequently However, I will buy most day and dates that I am interested in without waititng for a sale. For catalog titles (FOX) I would be willing to wait for a sale.

I refuse to go over 20$ unless it's a spur of the moment purchase. I'll actually hunt down movies in a few stores, yesterday I went to 3 different walmarts looking for Run Lola Run, none of them had it, so gave up.

With the gas you spent drivin around, you could have bought it a BB or CC and ended up spendin the same.....

I would say that most of my collection was bought for a reduced price. They're all new. Only very few have I paid $27.95. That's the most I would ever pay and I better love the movie or I'll just wait for it to go down to $19.99. I think both Blade Runner and Close Encounters, both special editions didn't even run me more than $27.95. I got a good deal on Encounters from Amazon.com.

I usually have no hesitation on discs below $25, but anything above requires some thought.

Same here. I have paid the most for a movie was 16. I have 38 Blu rays or so. And people brag about buying from Amazon for 27.95. Ebay and BOGOs are the way. The only way... Pay 39.99 a movie or get 2 1/2 on ebay. People are so stupid these days.s

Sunday ads are #1 source.
Amazon #2.

If I make a run into town I have CC, BB, and Shopko all in a 2 mile radius. I get groceries at Walmart and check while I'm there.

That's about it. I called all the major pawn shops in town and only 2 have any real stock. I won't drive to those stores (way out of the way) just for hunting purposes.

I try to find the best deals but I will buy a BD for reg price if it's something I absolutely have to have. That being said I have replaced certain reg DVD's with BD's but I won't replace all of them. Not cost effective for me. If I averaged it out right now all my BD's cost about 15 bucks per. I also but as many as I can used from my local Movie Stop. people buy em new, watch em once and trade em in. It's basically brand new anyway but with a nice price cut.

Pretty much echos my feelings. There is no reason to pay retail for movies. I learned my lesson with almost $10,000 worth of DVD's.

Not at all, at least not for myself. I purchase most of mine from Best Buy and Circuit City and do so on release day. If it's on sale, great. If not, that's fine also. Basically, unless it's a sale on new releases, it doesn't really do me any good anyway. I already have most of the titles so the sales usually end up being on titles I've already got.

I do sometimes try to pass along deals I see mentioned here to friends of mine that recently jumped on the blu-ray bandwagon. They do complain about the price occasionally but for the most part, they seem to only be interested in sales at BB, CC, Wal-mart, etc. and haven't used Amazon for blu-rays yet. I keep meaning to ask why that is.
