Opinions Needed on JVC LCD and Euro spec TVs

Hi,
I'm looking for some reviews of the JVC LT-47GZ78. I haven't been able to find much info on it because it apparently isn't sold in the US. In particular, I'd like to know how the black levels and overall picture quality stack up. Also, would I be happy playing games and watching fast-paced sports on it? On a related note, I'm currently serving in the army in Germany and I'm pretty much stuck with the options available at the local AAFES stores. Most of the TVs here have different resolutions than I'm used to seeing (1366x768, 1280x1080). Should I be concerned about that when I bring one of those TVs back to the US, or for that matter when I hook up my US spec PS3 to them? Thanks for the input.
