deonon 3808 ps3 dts-hd

Hello everyone

I got the ps3 connecterd with a hdmi to the denon 3808, i uses the bluray disc amazing planet so i was wondering why is there no dts-hd on my display form the denon.
i,m setting the ps3 setting to bitstream, do i had the install something in the denon ?????
im stuck of it

1.Set your PS3 to LPCM.
2.Your Denon will say ''multi channel''.
3.Does amazing planet even have a DTS-HDMD track on it?

yes on the disc it set it has, well setting it to pcm? why not to bitstream?

The PS3 cannot bitstream any of the HD codecs, it decodes them internally and can "only" output them LPCM. Switch to Linear on the PS3.

Whats the actual name of the movie? I can't find it in any search... The PS3 decodes the audio & sends it as PCM to your Denon. The PS3 will never bitstream DTS-HDMA.

You cant it will only say 'multi-chann' . You would need a BD player that could bit-stream, like the Panasonic BD30...& a Denon like your 3808 that has the ability to accept all the HD Audio codac's, only then will your receiver say TrueHD, DTS-HD,DTS-HDMA & PCM.

Exactly!!! So long as you chose the DTS HD MA option on the movie menu and the receiver is showing "PCM" or "Multich" or "Multichannel" or whatever Denon displays use for Linear PCM recognition, you are getting DTS HD MA. Press the select button on your PS3 remote while the movie is playing and at the top right of the screen it will tell you what track is being played back, just so that you can verify DTS HD MA at both ends of the equipment.

and press SELECT to see what the PS3 send to the AVR. Should see either PCM, DTS HD or TrueHD... that's all good.

PS3 won't ever send the bitstream signal has it doesn't have the proper HDMI 1.3 chip..
