Unhappy Sharp HDTV

Hey, I was just wondering if anyone could give me some feedback to help me out with a question that i have. I currently own a 26" Sharp LC-26SH20U HDTV which only goes up to 720P/1080i (these two resolutions are similar right?) and i was wondering if i will still see a noticeable difference between a normal dvd and a blu-ray movie if i play the blu-ray movie on my PS3 that is currently hooked up to this Tv. I wish that i had more money right now to buy an HDTV with a larger screen but i don't because i am in college and i have a ton of student loans to pay off. Will i still be able to notice the awesome picture of a blu-ray movie on this HDTV?

Really? thats cool. Its nice to know that someone else owned a smaller hdtv as well. I just lose confidence in my HDTV when i watch a movie on it like lets say I, Robot and then i compare what i am seeing on my screen to what is shown in the screenshots section on this website and the images on this website look different like they are smoother or something. What do you think?

an image on a website will look so good because it is not in motion. You can't really compare an single image to the image on your tv. Its the same for anyone regardless of the size of thier tv and what there tv can do.

Even on a 26", you'll notice a difference in SDVD and BD. No worries there --

The difference between 720p and 1080i won't be so noticeable though.

So would i just go into my PS3 settings and change the maximum resolution that it shows to 720p instead of 1080i like i have it set to right now?

exactly. As long as you have the new Firmware updates your ps3 will play the bds at 720p and not 1080i same with your games.
