The PS3 doesn't even show my hard drive in the menu. Don't I have to name the folders something?

I think your hard drive has to be formatted to Fat32 for the PS3 to recognize it.

One slightly annoying thing I have noticed is that when the PS3 copies music from your external to it's HD it sometimes wipes the track numbers from the song's ID tag... So instead of album order the files then list alphabetically... Thus making you either go in and adjust songs individually, or you can just set up a playlist.

Don't most media players have problems reading tags written by another? Seems to be a lack of adherence to some sort of music tagging standard.
