Default Coldplay - Not playing in PS3

Alright before we start with the "You wanna know how I know you're gay?" jokes - yes, I listen to Coldplay. Also please skip the "Even your PS3 knows Coldplay sucks" jokes.

Just bought the new Coldplay album, and my PS3 won't play it. The little hurricane thing spirals in the upper right of my screen, but no CD logo ever shows up in the XMB so I can play it. Anybody else having this same trouble with this disc???

Coldplay is amazing.

It's because of some DRM bullshit. If you want it on your PS3 you have to torrent it.

this is just one example of why I hate DRM, copy protection is one thing, but when it interferes with the functionality of the media, it goes too far.

There is something weird with that CD. I got it to play on my ps3. I ripped it to my ps3 harddrive. However, in the process of ripping the cd it did stop a few times. Some ps3 error came up. But after a few tries it eventually did rip the entire cd to the harddrive.

Like these guys said, its DRM bs.

itunes will copy any cd....and if it has copy guard, well i know how to bypass
that...sometimes with sony discs or other ones that are super copy guarded i have to change the format from mp3 to aac at 160kbps and they usually
go thru just fine....

Yes, Radihead is a good band. However, everytime I hear them I think that the band plays the song and the lead singer just mumbles and makes weird sounds.

Saw RH at bonnaroo two years ago - my favorite show ever! I've got tickets for Ohio on the 4th... psyched.

So, Are you saying I'm going to have to rip the Coldplay disc, burn it, then I can play it? Will the ripper in M$ Windows media player even ALLOW me to rip this DRM protected turd of a disc?

all i'm saying is, if you successfully rip it into ITUNES, you should just be able
to create a playlist and burn a copy, that copy will have no problem at all
playing in you ps3, or your ipod if you have one

So how is it then, that an original copy will not play, but a burned copy will. What the hell is DRM limiting? Seems ironic that copyright protection prevents an original from working...

certain codes writen into copyguard block the function of cds playing in
things like a computer, and a ps3 is a computer...but if worse comes
to worse burn it in the aac format i said...then copy....your legally
allowed a backup anyway..

I think that CDs you buy in the store come from a mold witch has some physical thing on it that has the drm shit in there. When you rip a cd it breaks each song up to an individual file. Those individual files are not copyprotected.

most cds that are copyguarded will still burn into itunes, but if you use mp3
there will be a loud static sound thru some parts of the cd...
