Default selling used dvds to stores

I'm getting rid of some of the dvds i own to stores and i was wondering whats the best place to get back some cash. I know pawn shops you only get like 50 cents or $1 if you're lucky. is FYE a good place? I am fine with getting like $2 a movie...better than 50 cents.

You might be better off to sell them in bulk on ebay or if you don't need the money right now, donate them to your library (if they do have a DVD section) -usually you can get about 1/3 of the current price- and write it off next years taxes

In any case do not expect to get rich by selling second hand DVD's. I have done the same and will do so more in the future depending on what Blurays I acquire. Ebay would probably get you a little more but then again you must invest time in making the announcement, watching it, when someone wins the bid, you must make the pack, send it, finalize the deal in ebay etc ... I'm too lazy to do that if it's just for a few bucks

i sold mine on half.com. the problem with ebay is that, many people often take long time to pay and you got to wait and chase or report if they dont pay. its an hassel.

i just list some of mine on half.com. If people want to buy it, it is buy-it-now and pay-it-now.. no hassel. So, once I am notified its sold, then it is sold and i get the money right away. I sold my copy of "300" for $5~ + $2.39 S&H. Half.com compensate you the shipping right away.

yes, it may take longer to sell on half.com, but if you dont need these $5 right away, i guess it is ok. (if you do need the $5 right away, you got more serious issues to think about than getting rid of old DVDs. )

Thats a bargain for both sides actually. You get what you probably you would get if you were to sell individually, and the other side probably wont be buying Blu rays any time soon.

good deal and luck you!

If your looking to buy Blu-ray's with that cash you may want to look into dvdplanet.com. They buy back DVD's for credit. Done this a few times to upgrade to Blu-ray. You may want to think about it.

f.y.e. is good and they also give you a credit if you want it. you can take cash too if you want. if you have a lot of dvd's you can net a pretty penny. it's not hard to walk out of f.y.e. with a $100-$150 at a time. i wouldn't use ebay. it's a bit of a waste. a lot of hassle to sell it on there. plus you have to pay to sell it. f.y.e. doesn't charge you a dime for selling it. if you can though try and find some local used shops in the area, as they will net you the best profit. also cd warehouse is great for this type of stuff.

I've used them a couple of times and have been very impressed by them. If you plan your purchases well, you can take advantage of their 20% off deals in June and November too.

Wherehouse.com will buy movies for straight "cash" (either check or Paypal transfer), but tend to offer less back on movies than dvdplanet in my experience. I've never had a problem with either company though.

When I first switched to Blu I sold around 300 movies to these two sites and made around $1,200.

wherehouse is still open? i thought that place was long gone. it really wasn't that great to begin with. i liked blockbuster better, but blockbuster ended up closing.
