help buying 1080p on a budget - Blu-ray Forum

best tv for 1000? LCD, DLP doesn't matter. That's what i'm working with and I just need an idea where to start.

look into the Panasonic Viera TH-42PZ80U 42" 1080p Plasma HDTV $899 from amazon.com plus you get free shipping and they have a good return policy.

Otherwise you could also look into the Samsung LN40A550 40-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV a great LCD listed on amazon for about $999.

+1 GREAT TV, but im sure u can go bigger with a DLP and theres nothing wrong with them pq wise imo

Not a lot of positive things have been said around here about Toshiba LCD's. For <$1K, you won't go wrong with the Pany plasma mentioned above.

I was stuck between Pan th42pz80u and Sam ln40a550 for the longest time

and this was when the panasoinc was $1300

I went with the Panasonic with discount it came up to $900 and I could not be any happier with the tv. $900 with free shipping is a steal.
