There are a lot of good 1080P models on the market. What is your price range?

If you have a dedicated dark home theater room a JVC or Sony Front projector would be ideal for best picture quality. Other choices are a JVC or Sony rear projector, LCD screens Pioneer Plasma’s, etc.

In order of picture quality I rate the following displays
  • Front Projectors
  • Rear projectors
  • Plasma screens
  • LCD screens

All the above have plusses and minuses.

depends on viewing distance, but for the most part No. One needs a 50" to start to see the diffrence form 1080i & 1080p and that is at about 7ft viewing distance.

Here's what I did. I took the size range I'd be hapy with. Figured out my price range. Then squared it with what models I could get. Then weighted all their features and figured which ones were deal breakers if they lacked it. I then weighed the basic viewing technologies to figure what ones I liked best.

I settled on a 65" DLP by Mitsubishi since it fit my area, had excellent picture quality and offered the best array of features for my price.
