Default Things just got really Klumpy

Quote:
Universal and Imagine Entertainment are in the early stages of developing a new "Nutty Professor" movie, in what would be the third installment of the remake of the 1963 Jerry Lewis vehicle, says The Hollywood Reporter. An open call is out to writers for their take on a potential third entry.

Although it has been eight years since the last "Nutty" came out, executives are interested in a new version that would follow The Nutty Professor 2: The Klumps, starring Eddie Murphy.

Murphy is not attached to a new "Nutty"; his involvement would be contingent on the writer, director and other elements.

When I saw the first one, I laughed...but I missed the 2nd one. It's been many many years, but from what I remember, I liked the first one.

The first was great, the second was horrible. They need to leave this franchise alone.

If I were any production company, I would be very wary of partnering in anything with Eddie Murphy. The guy has basically been the angel of death for any project he has been in in the last five years. It's just not a good idea.

I don't see it's such a good idea to make a new one. Original was very hard to beat, for me Nutty Professor will always be Jerry Lewis. The first one was ok, had it's moment but the second one was just long, too long and not funny at all. Let's hope Universal can find better projects to work on.

Wrong. Dreamgirls.

That being said, I wouldn't watch an Eddie Murphy "comedy" for free.

You are exactly right! Why did I forget that? Dude even got nominated for Best Supporting Actor if I'm not mistaken. Good call!

I stand corrected. And I forgot he is in the Shrek series. So I guess I just need to give the guy a break.
