Default Onkyo 606 help....sound, but no picture

Ok earlier, I was watching TV, dabbling a little on LittleBigPlanet. I switched over the source from DVD to CBL/SAT. The screen did a little squiggle and now...nothing. I'm able to listen to my channel, but I can't see it. The TV shows and "unusable signal" message. I've had this receiver for a couple months and had no issues. Could this be a setting (can't see the on screen menu BTW) or something simple a new HDMI cable would solve?

Any thoughts on what this could be or what I could try?

thanks
matt

from the trouble shooting section of the manual.

There’s no picture
• Make sure that all video connecting plugs are pushed
in all the way (page 20).
• Make sure that each video component is properly connected.
• On your TV, make sure that the video input to which
the AV receiver is connected is selected.
• While the Pure Audio listening mode is selected, the
video circuitry is turned off and only the HDMI OUT
outputs video signals.
• If the video source is connected to an HDMI input,
you must assign that input to an input selector
(page 43), and your TV must be connected to the
HDMI OUT (page 31).
• If the video source is connected to a component video
input, you must assign that input to an input selector
(page 44), and your TV must be connected to either
the HDMI OUT or COMPONENT VIDEO OUT
(page 31, 23).
• If the video source is connected to an S-Video or composite
video input, your TV must be connected to the
HDMI OUT or the corresponding S-Video or composite
video output (page 31, 23).

Of course...of all the things I don't have (the manual). Thanks for this. I'll try it.

update...could be my TV. It made some weird "electric" sound when I turned if off (for the 23rd time). Worked when it came back on....strange and frustrating at the same time.

try plugging the cable box straight into the back of the tv and bypass the receiver, see if you get a pic....if you get a pic then the issue is your receiver, still getting the same problem then it is your cable/sat box.
