Anyone else waiting for the domestic Sony release of this movie? Tempted to buy the Import but it's only in 1080i and no special features

I blind bought the dvd when it came out and wasn't very impressed with the movie. To me, it tried too hard to copy some of the other great war movies around that time (i.e. Private Ryan, etc.).

There's also a 1080p French release by Universal but it doesn't have any English subtitles.

I am waiting for this to come out on blu ray,this war movie has a good story and lots of action!

If you read up on this film on imdb.com, you'll see that I am in the minority and found this film strangely unmoving (Korean blu-ray version).

I may just have a finer appreciation for cheese as I really enjoyed 'Welcome to Dongmakgol' in spite of it's improbable story and wooden English-speaking actors.

Yeah I hope they release it soon. I've been itching to buy it since I got my PS3 but still holding out for the US release.

Despite the fact that the film is encoded in 1080i, the transfer looks very good!
Your TV should address the 1080i concerns you might have.

oh I know but I'm just a bit disappointed that the korean release has no extra stuff in it while the US DVD release does.

Oh man am I waiting! This is on my all time top 3! Absolutely love this! Ive been meaning to order this, and Welcome to Dongmakgol from yesasia for $50 with shipping! Pretty nice price I think... Can anyone recommend Welcome to Dongmakgol? I have never seen it, but if its just ½ as good as Tae Guk Gi, ill love it!
