So this thread is just for speculation and wish list, we have Sleeping Beauty and Pinocchio coming out on March 10th. Has there been any news or rumors regarding future Disney Platinum releases? I know I heard a thing or two about Aladdin in the fall.

Sounds like they are planning on two releases a year or something.

I think they're just going to try to follow they're decaded anniversary editions.

Fantasia and Fantasia 2000 are slated for March 2010.

I'm almost sure they're going to rerelease the whole platinum line, with just Fantasia and Fantasia 2000 included now... But, I hope they're also going to include others, like Pocahontas or such.

Disney released a formal press release announcing the following Platinum titles and schedule:

Pinocchio - Spring 2009 (Since confirmed for March 10)
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs - Fall 2009
Fantasia - 2010
Fantasia 2000 - 2010
Beauty and the Beast - Fall 2010

The press release is available at Ultimate Disney.

I don't think the Toy Story films will qualify for the "Platinum" labeling, simply because they were produced by Pixar, not Disney at the time. Of course, now that Disney owns Disney, they could change their minds. But it goes without saying that Toy Story and Toy Story 2 should arrive on BD with Toy Story 3's eventual release.

Of the rest of the rest of the Platinum titles, count me especially interested in seeing Aladdin, The Little Mermaid and Bambi joining the release schedule soon someday.

as I will get them all. I really can't wait for Beauty. That's my all time fav. Snow White is another title I'm looking forward to. Can't wait to see what they include as bonus features.

Anyone know when the Sleeping Beauty Blu-ray goes back into the vault? I know that once that happens the prices tend to go up on used copies.

All I know is i want Lion King. I havn't seen that moive in forever. i think i have it on VHS somewhere but what good is that??

It's been confirmed by Disney that Fantasia and Fantasia 2000 are coming as Platinum Edition's in 2010 (Probably day and date with each other in late February/ early March). Then, I'm hoping Lion King and Aladdin will both follow in 2011.

OMG Tarzan would be amazing. I LOVED this one...and maybe Cinderella?!?
And for 2010 we know that at least "Princess and the Frog" will come on blu-ray.
