Default TDK or Wall-E which as the best chance of being nominated for Best Picture

Which one guys, personally I think its Wall-E. Fanboys will scream when this happens lol. Super Heros and animation don't usually get to many honors at these events so either one would be a nice suprise from the Academy.

Both were excellent movies.

TDK, I love both movies the same but I just don't think that Hollywood will give Wall-E or any animated film the just due credit at this point. With everyone wanting Heath Ledger to winner either the best actor award or a "post humorous" (no pun intended), I just think the cards are stacked to tall to give Wall-E all that it deserves.

I liked both of these movies a lot. Picking one over the other in terms of preference may prove difficult, so I attempted to rationalize how the academy would look at this and came to the conclusion that of the two Wall-E might be excluded due to the Best Animated Feature Film category. Some
Academy members may agrue that because of this category Wall-E shouldn't be nominated for Best Picture. I don't necessarily agree that it should be exempted on these grounds, but that is how I see the Academy rationalizing it.

I would have to say Wall E, both stories were original but the movie as a whole was original with Wall E

In a Perfect world both would be. However I think it all depends on weather or not Heath Ledger will be winning the Best Supporting Actor award. If the Academy is dead set on that then it might overlook giving TDK the nod for Best Picture. Either way I believe it deserves to be nominated.

I feel Wall E has a bigger battle because of the Best Animated Movie award. (This is a tough break for Dreamworks as in any other year they would win with Kung Fu Panda, but not in the same year that Wall E came out!)

But in some ways couldn't this have been said for Peter O'toole losing the award for Best Actor in Lawrence Arabia when the award was given to Gregory Peck in To Kill A Mockingbird? Any other year and O'toole would have won the award.

i'd say Wall-E only b/c the academy is more "forgiving" of an animated movie than a superhero movie. i prefer'd TDK personally for multiple reasons.

my jaw hit the floor when Return of the King won Best Picture a few years back. i never thought i'd see that happen.

But, was the award really for the Return of the King or really for the whole LOTR trilogy? All 3 films were really all shot at the same time or one after another prior to the release of The Fellowship of the Ring.

That was and is my interpretation as well. And it was most rightfully deserved.

I can't think what other films from this year would get the nom. Changeling maybe and Australia will be in there for sure.

Even though Australia is a bit of joke according to some reviews.

EDIT:Body of Lies, Blindness, Taken

I think Wall-E should win... but, all the hoopla over TDK and Ledger will likely sway the voting.

I don't recall an animated picture being nominated for Best Picture.
