I think Disney is really testing HD DVD fans reasoning. Disney is using the very same codec most HD DVD fans are seeing and showing them what it can really do on a format that allows it to stretch it's legs. HD DVD fans have never experienced a total HD experience on a disc (movie and all extras) and they never will as long as they stay with HD DVD. HD DVD fans will be stuck with regular DVD quality extras and minimal HD movie and/or audio encodes. They just don't have the bandwidth or the space.

It seems Disney is using an even heavier hand to get the point across this time. I will definitely pick this title up.

i like this movie and now with higher bit rate taking the BD to Beyond high definition...SURE i'm going to buy this MOVIE.

Thanks Buena Vista and SONY for using bit rate for PQ to its full potential where can keep HD-DVD just only dreaming.Hopefully Warner take this lesson now and use BD to its Full capability.

HDdigest says it's AVC encoded.

I'll take Chad's word over HDdigest anyday, but I guess we'll see.

As usual, Chad Varnadore is correct (while HD Digest is not)

Maybe I should take up reviewing.

VC-1 with the meter hitting 40 Mb/s several times and 5.1 LPCM 4.6 Mb/s

The opening scene looks amazing.

I wish many of my Warners BDs looked like this!

If they had known it was VC-1 it would have got a 5 star rating!

Just to clarify High-Def Digest says it’s AVC MPEG-4 for the supplements only. The clearly say it’s VC-1 for the movie.

It is interesting that they would use MPEG-4 for the supplements instead of VC-1. Can anyone verify this is correct?

It says VC-1 because I asked them to change it and the aspect ratio.

They even changed the first line of the video portion of Peter's review. LMAO!
